The Spring And A Storm

A Spring of pure water
crystal clear and sparkling,
glowing with beauty in its purest form,
she stands - tall and regal,
a rare gem to the courageous heart.

Her heart beats with overwhelming love,
the kind that births life,
lights up the dark,
thaws numbing glacials,
heals the deepest of wounds
calms the tempestuous mind.

Her mind is a well of wisdom,
and of wealth
spinning in every direction
to gather multiple resources
and make the best of every moment,
a spring of unending goodness.

Her body is uniquely beautiful,
like a glowing goddess,
her essence and energy brimming,
igniting the air around her,
subtle yet so strong
to command worship and affection.

Her spring, flowing in tranquil beauty
is a shade of comfort and peace
until the raging Storm appears,
swirling around and against her.

A test at first, desiring of familiarity,
a budding curiosity birthing
turbulence and unrest,
churning with envy masked as fondness.
In a slithery shade,
drops this oily darkness,
a soft plop on her calm surface.

Fast he spreads like a ripple
through every facet of her delicate being
From serenity,
she rages and roils
swirling every way in confusion,
fear and doubt
seeking her core.

Like an alien in a meadow,
she must search within
for that shade that was
never her colour.

His chaos wrestles with her calm.
Out he must go,
back to his core,
a mirror of the raging storm.

A wonderful poem. Where does it come from...that is, what conflict gave rise to these thoughts? It's purity defiled but not defeated.

Well done, @kemmyb

Oh, thanks so much for your compliment on this piece. I was inspired to write this one morning while reflecting on how external chaos can disturb even the calmest heart, and came to the conclusion that it's up to us to find our way back to peace again. Of course, every reader is free to find their own meaning or interpretation of a poem and yours gives a brilliant perspective.

It's purity defiled but not defeated.

Well said! It's always a pleasure to read your comments. I appreciate your visit and support. 🌹
