Rediscovering My Love for Flower Arrangement
Happy Monday Hivers!
I remember when I was a child, I had a deep fascination with flower arrangement. Whenever I saw wild flowers, I would pick them and arrange them myself. Owning a flower plantation and running my own flower shop was one of my biggest dreams back then.
When we are young, our dreams are so clear and vivid. But as we grow older, they slowly begin to fade. Little by little, our paths change, drifting farther away until those dreams are eventually forgotten. That’s exactly what happened to me. My dream of owning a flower plantation and a flower shop eventually led me to a completely different path, becoming an HR practitioner.

It’s been a while since I last arranged flowers. When I recently arranged some again, I doubted myself before I even started, I wondered if I still knew how to do it.

Last month, we celebrated the Feast of Señor Sto. Niño. Since it’s just my mom and me at home, there was no one else to arrange the flowers for Sto. Niño except me. I had no choice but to return to something I truly loved and allow myself to enjoy the process while doing it. So, I did the flower arrangement by myself.

At that time, flowers were very expensive because the typhoon had just passed. Aside from being costly, only a limited variety of flowers was available in the market. Thankfully, baby’s breath was available, so I used a lot of it.

I wasn’t very familiar with the two kinds of flowers, but my mom said they looked almost the same as espira.

The first thing I did was shape the wet floral foam into a round form. To make sure it wouldn’t fall apart, I secured the pieces together using sticks from a coconut broom so they would stay connected. I started by inserting the baby’s breath, and once I finished placing them, I added the larger flowers that looked similar to espira. I did my best to fill the arrangement even though there were only a few flowers available. Thankfully, everything worked out just right.

I asked my mother if she liked the arrangement, and she said it was nice. I honestly thought I no longer knew how to do flower arrangements, so I was amazed to realize that I hadn’t actually forgotten it after all. I don’t know if you’ll like the arrangement as well, but it truly came from the heart.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!

It is one of the best, so follow me as I will be featuring my experiences of the stuff that I am passionate with.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Through what you said, I felt inspired to create another flower arrangement.
