Let Me Show You the Natural Beauty of Can-Anggay

Happy Wednesday Hivers!

Can-Anggay is one of the popular places in the municipality of Inopacan, known for its many beautiful rivers. When you travel to this area, you will see numerous rivers, as well as locals doing their laundry and enjoying a refreshing swim in the clear waters.

This place is special to us because many of our relatives live here, including some of my mother’s siblings. It is about a 30-minute drive from our home to reach Can-Anggay.

Today, I will take you on a virtual tour of Can-Anggay and show you its natural beauty.

Our main reason for going to Can-Anggay was to deliver food for Noche Buena to my mother’s siblings and some of our relatives. However, since the weather was very pleasant when we arrived, I took the opportunity to take photos of the surroundings and share its beauty with you.

One of my favorite areas when traveling to Can-Anggay along the national highway is this place. I really love stopping here and looking at the coconut trees lined up along the road.

Although Can-Anggay is a hilly area, traveling there is not difficult because the roads are paved. However, some parts of the road were damaged by Typhoon Tino.

As soon as you enter the Can-Anggay area, you’ll see many rivers. This part of the road has recently been repaired because it was damaged by Typhoon Tino.

Some of the other rivers aren’t crystal clear yet, as they’re still covered with a lot of algae.

There was a landslide in this area during Typhoon Tino. Luckily, there were no houses nearby, so only the road was affected. It became impassable due to the large rocks and mud that blocked the area.

This river is very close to my uncle’s house. We used to play here when we were kids. Since we always passed by this river whenever we visited his home, this became our usual place to play, unlike the other rivers.

Actually, I didn’t get to visit all the rivers near their place. My uncle and aunt live fairly close to each other, but not right next to one another. I didn’t explore much around my aunt’s area, even though I knew there was a river behind her house. I didn’t expect it to be so beautiful, the water was incredibly clear.

I told my aunt that her place felt like a little paradise, it was truly beautiful. However, despite the beauty we admire, it is also the reason their house gets damaged. Since they live very close to the river, strong currents during typhoons often cause destruction to their home.

Still, they choose not to leave because that land is theirs. It is where their livelihood is, and they do not want to abandon it.

That’s why I love visiting Can-Anggay, it’s one of the places where I feel like I can breathe away the complexities of life. The environment is so fresh, and wherever you look, the surroundings are truly beautiful. Even a simple glance reveals wildflowers that bring a small but meaningful joy to the heart.
