“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” This is a quote from The Little Prince, a character in a novel written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It is about a boy who has traveled on an asteroid and finds himself in the Sahara desert with an aviator, to whom he tells about his life on the planet, how he has cared for a vain rose, and his travels across six planets before arriving on Earth.
It is a very beautiful novel that tells us how we become obsessed with material things and leave aside the most important things, forgetting to focus on fulfilling our dreams, loving, and being happy.
Today I want to recreate The Little Prince with the art of origami. With this art of folding paper, you can make very beautiful figures; it's just a matter of folding correctly. Normally, it is done with colored paper, but I don't have any, and here they sell it at a high price, but that won't stop me from doing it. So here I will show you step by step how it is done.
STEP BY STEP:
On a sheet of bond paper, using a ruler, draw two 10x10 cm squares and cut them out.

Fold the sheet diagonally on one side and on the other side I just made a mark in the center, as shown in the image.

Then I fold it diagonally, with the corners facing inward. This leaves me with a triangle at the bottom, which I fold toward the back, and the corner should match the mark I made in the center in the previous steps, as shown in the image.

Leave the paper in the same position and open it, then fold only the edges of the triangle in the center toward the middle line. Leave the edges of the paper unfolded. As shown in the image, the pants are now ready, with the feet included.

Now, with the other piece of paper, I make the shirt. Fold it in half and then make a mark by folding that half in half, then fold only that piece, and it should look like the image shows.
I fold that fold I made toward the back and do the same on the other side. I fold the triangle that formed at the tips toward the back, and that's it, the shirt is done.

The pants I made will go inside, in the opening of the shirt, but to do that, I have to color them first. So I took the blue marker and painted them. And that's it, the body is ready.

Cut out two 4.5 x 4.5 cm squares; use one square to make the head. Take a square and fold it in half, both horizontally and vertically, and then diagonally.

Fold the corners inward, as shown in the image, so that they look like this.

Then I fold the tip upward, and I will open the two points that remain in the center a little and fold them inward, as shown in the image, trying to leave one point sticking up.

I folded the triangle at the top downwards to mark the middle. Then I folded the bottom half downwards and the tip upwards and then downwards. I painted it with the yellow marker and it ended up looking like this, as you can see in the image.

With the last square we had left, I only used one piece, which I took from the fold of the square in half in both directions and cut out just one square. I painted it flesh-colored, and that square will go inside the head I made earlier.
To make the scarf, cut out a 9 x 1 cm rectangle, fold it in half, and paint it red. Now I have all the pieces ready, I just need to put it together. To make sure it stays in place, I put a little glue on the inside of the head to attach the face, then a little on the top of the shirt to attach the head, and then on the tip of the pants so that it stays inside the shirt. Then I glued the scarf and put glue on the folds that were sticking up, so it would look better and the work would be neater.

“Solo con el corazón se puede ver bien; lo esencial es invisible a los ojos". Esta es una frase dicha por El principito, un personaje de una novela, escrita por Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Trata de un niño que ha viajado en un asteroide y se encuentra en el desierto del Sahara con un aviador, para luego contarle sobre su vida en el planeta, de que ha cuidado a una rosa vanidosa y de sus viajes por 6 planetas, antes de llegar a la tierra.
Es una novela muy bonita que nos habla de como nos obsesionamos con las cosas materiales y dejamos a un lado las cosas mas importantes, nos olvidamos de enfocarnos en cumplir nuestros sueños, de amar y ser feliz.
Hoy quiero recrear con el arte del origami a El principito. Con este arte de hacer pliegues en papel, se logra hacer figuras muy hermosas, solo es cuestion de hacer bien los dobleces. Normalmente se hace con papeles de colores, pero yo no tengo y aquí los venden bien caros, pero eso no me va a deterner a realizarlo. Asi que aquí les mostrare el paso a paso de como se realiza.
PASO A PASO:
En una hoja de papel Bond y con la ayuda de la regla, realice dos cuadros de 10x10 cm y recorte.

Doble la hoja en diagonal de un solo lado y del otro lado solo hice una marca en el centro, tal como se muestra en la imagen.

Luego hago el doblez en diagonal, de las puntas hacia adentro. Me quedó como un triángulo en la parte de abajo, el cual doblé hacia la parte de atrás, y la punta debe coincidir con la marca que hice en el centro, en los pasos anteriores, tal como se muestra en la imagen.

Dejo el papel en esa misma posición y abro el papel, para luego doblar solo las orillas del triángulo del centro, hacia la línea del medio. Dejando las orillas del papel sin doblar. Así como se muestra en la imagen y ya tenemos el pantalón listo, con los pies incluidos.

Ahora, con el otro pedazo de papel, realizo la camisa. Doble por la mitad y después hago una marca doblando esa mitad por la mitad, para luego doblar solo ese pedazo, y debe quedar como se muestra en la imagen.
Ese doblez que realicé, lo voy a doblar hacia la parte de atrás y hago lo mismo del otro lado. Y el triángulo que se formó en las puntas, lo doblo hacia la parte de atrás, y listo, así queda la camisa.

El pantalón que hice va a ir adentro, en la abertura de la camisa, pero para hacer eso, antes debo colorearlo. Así que tomé el marcador azul y lo pinté. Y listo, ya tengo listo el cuerpo.

Recorte dos cuadros de 4.5 x 4.5 cm; con un cuadro de eso realice la cabeza. Tome un cuadrado y lo doble por la mitad, tanto horizontal como vertical, y luego en forma diagonal.

Doble las puntas de las esquinas hacia adentro, tal como se ve en la imagen, quedando de esta manera.

Luego doblo la punta hacia arriba, y esos dos picos que quedan en el centro los abriré un poco y doblaré hacia adentro, como se ve en la imagen, tratando de que quede un pico sobresaliente hacia arriba.

Ese triángulo que quedó en la parte de arriba, lo doblé hacia abajo para marcar el medio. Luego esa mitad de abajo la doble hacia abajo y la punta la doble hacia arriba y luego para abajo. La pinto con el marcador amarillo y así quedó de esta manera, como se aprecia en la imagen.

Con el último cuadrado que nos quedó, solo use un pedazo, el cual saque del doblez del cuadrado por la mitad en ambos sentido y recorte solo un cuadro. Lo pinté de color carne y ese cuadro va a ir dentro de la cabeza que realice anteriormente.
Para realizar la bufanda, recorte un rectángulo de 9 x 1 cm, la doble por la mitad y lo pinte de color rojo. Y ya tengo todas las piezas listas, solo falta armarlo. Para que quede bien fijo, le eché un poco de pega en la parte de adentro de la cabeza para colocar la cara, luego un poquito en la parte de arriba de la camisa, para pegar la cabeza, y luego en la punta del pantalón para que quede fijo dentro de la camisa. Luego pegue la bufanda y le eche pega en los dobleces que se ven levantados, para que tenga un mejor aspecto y el trabajo quede más prolijo.

Y así quedó "El principito" listo para su aventura.
