The quest for seeking truth
Trying to figure out what's actually true these days feels less like informed research and more like wading through a swamp in the dark alley Seriously. I stumbled across this piece of somwhere talking about the sheer effort required to seek truth now and it hit a nerve when I Remember finding information felt relatively straightforward Maybe it wasn't easy but the path seemed clearer. Now It's like navigating a maze built by trolls, bots, and algorithms designed to keep us clicking not thinking the sheer volume of stuff thrown at us with conflicting narratives as lots of hot takes disguised as news, outrage click bait it's mentally draining.
This nailed a feeling I get constantly about information overload paralysis as There's just too much going round and mixed in with potentially valuable perspectives is a tidal wave of deliberate misinformation and half truths sold to the readers, as It makes you want to just shut it all off sometimes. Who has the time or energy to be a full-time fact checker for every single headline tweet, or viral video in circulation but here’s the uncomfortable truth that resonates everytime shutting down isn't the answer. As overwhelming as it is disengaging completely feels like surrendering the ground. If we aren't actively critically sifting through the noise who gets to shape the narrative of how the information is been spread It’s scary to think how easily manipulated we can be when we're tired distracted, or just assume someone else has done the vetting.
