Centuries-old palm trees and nests of endangered birds!

Whenever I hear the word palm tree, a poem comes to mind. In our Bengali language, there is a poem written by the world poet Rabindranath Tagore about palm trees, which is an interesting poem written mainly for primary school students. Anyway, there was a time when many big trees could be seen in every region, which could be seen from a distance and it seemed as if it was peeking over the village. But times have changed, now palm trees are not seen as much. Still, sometimes palm trees can be seen in some places. For example, there is a house on our rural road, far away from our village, which has no other houses around it. People lived there a long time ago. Perhaps they planted this tree. It is a very old tree.

Even though no one lives in this house now, the trees seem to bear witness to that time. Even though the people have disappeared in the stream of time, the tree still shows its presence. There are even many mysteries about this tree. Many times, especially when I was young, I used to hear from my ancestors that this tree has a jinn. Even today, many people are afraid to pass by this tree and a huge cotton tree next to this tree in the evening or afternoon. Anyway, these trees are very old and these trees still seem to carry the memories of the past and tell people. The tree has grown very tall.

But the interesting thing is that there are many beautiful bird nests on the leaves of this tree. These birds are known as Babui Pakhi in our regional language. It is very beautiful and they make bird nests hanging so beautifully from the leaves of the tree which is really extraordinary. Even the nests of these birds are very skillful and beautiful and have two parts inside. Where they can hide and no other animals like snakes can find them even if they enter the house. Anyway, these bird nests were once very familiar in our region. When I was young, I used to see these bird nests hanging in different trees. But now they are not very easy to see. They are almost extinct in our region now. So when I saw the chirping of birds and the bird nests in these trees and trees, I liked it very much. Especially at that time there was a lot of wind and the bird nests were swinging. It was a beautiful scene which I liked very much.
