Valencia. The Spanish Coliseum, beautiful townhouses, orange trees in the city center 🍊 🇪🇸

(Edited)

When I got out of the metro in Valencia, I started to wonder if I was still in Spain, or maybe in Italy, in Rome 😉 Because I saw the coliseum.

I also discovered oranges growing in the city centre, which were within reach. I love this in Mediterranean countries and I miss it very much in my country, where walking around the city I can see apple trees, mirabelle plums or pears, and I miss exotic fruits. I remember that when I was in Japan I really liked the view of trees with persimmons growing in the city.

The weather in Valencia was difficult that day. It was raining heavily at first and when I got off the metro, many people had taken shelter from the downpour in the metro station and didn’t come out for a while. But I was quite the opposite. With an umbrella in my hand, I set off into the city 😉 My stay in Spain had time limits and if I wanted to see more, I had to deal with the less than ideal weather. But you know what, after a while it stopped raining and the sun came out for a bit, so it became nicer.

A ja wręcz przeciwnie. Z parasolką w ręce ruszyłam w miasto 😉 Pobyt w Hiszpanii miał ograniczenia czasowe i jeśli chciałam zabaczyć więcej musiałam zmierzyć się z nieidealną pogodą.

And I could discover the beauty of this city. I was greatly impressed by the architecture in Valencia, and above all, the historic tenement houses.

I mogłam odkryć piękno tego miasta. Ogromne wrażenie zrobiła na mnie architektura w Walencji, a przede wszystkim zabytkowe kamienice.

And next to the tenement houses were nice modern buildings. I also went to a street with trendy shops. I wanted to go inside and look for something to buy. In the meantime, I was pressed for time and the desire to explore the area...

A obok kamienic fajne były nowoczesne budynki. Miałam ochotę wejść do środka i poszukać sobie czegoś do kupienia. Tymczasem gonił mnie czs i chęć zwiedzania okolicy...

And all you had to do was look around to see something extraordinary. Like this building, for example. Streamlined shapes, fancy balconies. Trendy colors, cool style. Definitely my type. This building reminded me of Gaudi's designs that can be admired in Barcelona.

A wystarczyło się obejrzeć, żeby zobaczyć coś niezwykłego. Jak na przykład ten budynek. Opływowe kształty, finezyjne balkony. Modna kolorystyka, fajny styl. Zdecydowanie moje klimaty. Ten budynek skojarzył mi się z projektami Gaudiego, którymi można się zachwycać w Barcelonie.

Two steps further and we have classical buildings. With beautiful decorations. Also, in my style. The wooden entrance doors to the buildings were spectacular. Massive, interestingly finished.

Dwa kroki dalej i mamy klasyczne budynki. Z pięknymi zdobieniami. Też, w moim guście. Spektakularne są te drewniane drzwi wejściowe do budynków. Masywne, ciekawie wykończone.

As usual, when I was in a new city I was looking at the things displayed on the store shelves and I liked this apron, flamenco style. Sensual, different from the aprons I have at home. What do you think, did I buy it? Or maybe I gave in to such temptation? 😉

Jak sądzicie, kupiłam go? Czy dałam się oprzeć takiej pokusie? 😉

When the sun came out I also passed by a beautiful hedge covered with flowers in an intense fuchsia color. I really liked Valencia. I hope to return there someday...

Gdy wyszło słońce przechodziłam też obok takiego pięknego żywopłotu porośniętego kwiatami w intensywnym. fuksjowym kolorze. Bardzo mi sie spodobała Walencja. Mam nadzieję, że jeszcze kiedyś tam wrócę...

Valencia is beautiful. I would love to visit Valencia someday. I love places that are a mix of old and modern. The architectural design of the building and the houses, you can tell that the place has a remarkable history. I love the design of the doors, it's very stunning. 🙂

The Spanish Coliseum is giving off a Roman vibe, while the blend of historic tenement houses and sleek modern buildings showcases its rich architectural tapestry. Despite the rain, you embraced every moment, discovering the city’s charm in every corner.

Thanks! 🙂 I think that the mix of styles makes the city look more interesting. For me, the rain is not an obstacle to sightseeing, but when the sun came out it was more pleasant 😉

Greetings from Spain @katiefreespirit
on behalf of the @hive-spain team! 👋

Haha that's an interesting comparison of the Colosseum and the Bullring 🤔 I think we have so internalized our heritage that it's hard for us to relate, but you've amazed us with your reflection.🙌

It's a shame you had erratic weather during your visit, but we really applaud your determination and willingness to take advantage of the time to get to actually sightsee. In the end the rain also brings with it some beauty.🌦

Oh please tell us if you ended up buying that apron haha. 😍😜

Enjoy your stay very much ;)

And if you feel like keep writing about your visit and adding a Spanish translation, you could cross post it on Hive España 🇪🇸 community 😉

Hahaha you needed to get a little more of the Spanish spirit to get the apron! A couple of Sangrías could surely help haha
