Just yesterday I was reading about a case in Greece, where a student failed their exam because they (allegedly) used AI and cheated. So, the Professor asked the student to take the exams orally. You can never guess what happened.
The Greek mama (this is material for a few more posts), traveled from another city with a friend, and asked the professor to reconsider, telling him that her son needed one month to study again the material, so he could not take the oral exam this time.

Human × AI Finance is an original research exercise: write a finance research paper using as much AI assistance as possible — in just four weeks All submitted papers will be reviewed by AI agents, which will select the top four for presentation and discussion at the Fink Center Conference on Financial Markets at UCLA Anderson on April 24, 2026.

This is a serious research exercise with an unusual twist. We want rigorous finance papers. We also want to learn what happens when researchers fully embrace AI as a collaborator — from literature review to modeling to writing.

What are the rules?

The Rules

• Start date. Formal work on the paper must begin no earlier than the release of this Call for Papers (February 18, 2026).
• Use AI. Authors are encouraged to integrate AI tools as extensively as possible throughout the research process.
• Any finance topic. We welcome papers on any topic in finance, broadly defined.
• Any format. There are no constraints on paper length, structure, or style.

Who Can Submit??

Everyone. Faculty, graduate students, industry professionals, independent researchers — all backgrounds are welcome.

Submission Requirements

Submissions must include:

• A PDF of the paper
• A machine-readable version of the paper (LaTeX, Word, or Markdown)
• A brief description of your AI workflow — how you used AI and how it helped the project

Review and Selection

All papers will be reviewed by a panel of AI agents. The AI agents will select the four best papers for the conference program. No human will be involved in the selection process.

AI agents will choose the best of the papers, this is also a first and I am not sure if humans should be involved in this process.

Feedback from the AI reviewers will be shared with every author.

If you choose to participate, you will get feedback by the AI reviewers :) So, be ready for it!

Conference Presentation

Selected papers will be presented and discussed as part of the Fink Center Conference on Financial Markets at UCLA Anderson on April 24, 2026. Funds are available to support travel and lodging for presenting authors.

You need to be ready though.
If you paper gets selected, be ready to travel and present your work to the conference!
