The style of the artist changed through the decades, but it does have a similar approach. He has earned international recognition for his work.

Mr Papadakis is deeply inspired by folk wisdom, local traditions, and the landscapes of Crete.
Those influences are combined with he teachings of his mentor at the Athens School of Fine Arts, Nikos Nikolaou, and the artistic dialogue of the “Dexameni” community in Aegina.
Throughout the years, the artist has created his own a unique visual language

Stavros Arnaoutakis, Governor of Crete
In the exhibition catalogue, the Governor highlights:
“An artist who continues to surprise. A painter with endless inspiration, capable of delivering unique works every time. Papadakis combines Cretan tradition with contemporary art, creating masterpieces distinguished for their technique and aesthetic completeness… He has become an ambassador of universal art while staying rooted in his homeland.”

Mrs Rena Papadaki-Skalidi, Deputy Mayor of Culture, Municipality of Heraklion
As the host of the exhibition, she writes:
“His numerous solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, his educational work, and his distinction with the ‘N. Kazantzakis’ Award prove his consistent presence in the visual arts. His work, deeply rooted in tradition yet open to modern quests, forms a continuous journey between the local and the universal.”
Aristodimos Papadakis’ work leaves a beautiful aftertaste after you visit his art.
You leave the exhibition with new memories, and you are invited to rediscover your island (Crete) through the artists eyes. Modern, traditional yet innovative!

The houses are pretty cool I like them!
Five decades of art in one place? That’s impressive.
I loved reading about your visit to the gallery. Seeing that event highlighted important elements of his artistic life. He explored various styles, but his works retain a similarity to his original essence. Thank you for sharing.
