Yeah I lways have the feeling these attacks come in waves somewhere. As in...some company you have a subscription to has a breach and then they try in every type of way. Lately I had a lot of phonecalls also trying to get my attention and leave something in there. So that means by now I when I pick up the phone I don't even mention my name anymore, just to see what happens.
An after some weeks...it dies down again, I guess they have some new potential targets again. I can't imagine being old and having to maneuver through all of this without the knowledge that we have

If you get a phone call from unknown numbers, that could be an attempt of voice cloning which is a thing these days as well. So, you did the right thing by not mentioning your name but it's best not to answer it.
These people doesn't really care if we're old and young. To them, we're just a target ready to be harvested & they can be pretty ruthless. Even for me, I need to really tell my mom and educate her about various scams, AI and even impersonation attempt.
