Happy Caturday: temple cats were not interested in Earthquakes.

On Saturday I was very eager to get to the temple to feed those stray cats. I wanted to know whether those cats were affected by the strong earthquakes on Friday. I asked the cats in the car park if they were scared by the shaking of the earth the previous day. But I didn’t get any satisfactory answers, only questions on why I was absent quite often. At least no cats went missing after the earthquakes. They were meowing to complain how hungry they had been. But I did notice that someone had placed cats food around the car park. So, they didn’t go without any food the whole week.

It took me about five minutes to arrange the dishes and fill them up with biscuits and wet food. These cats were very spoiled: they wouldn’t eat dry biscuits on their own. They would waited for me to dish out wet food on top of those biscuits. The way they intently munched their food made me very happy to be able to satisfy their hunger. I felt so good seeing these cats with full stomach and became relaxed after their meals. Some would start grooming and laying easy on the ground. Temple cats were so easy to please.

I did notice that the group of five kittens had only two kittens left. The two black and white kittens had migrated to next location which was an old abandoned port by the river. It the small ginger kitten was sick last month but she could still eat her food. She had disappeared for three weeks, I was worried about her but her two siblings couldn’t tell me what happened to the small sister. I forgot to ask the skinny monk if he knew what had happened to her.

The small black other cat ran to greet me as soon as he heard my voice. The poor cat was very thin though she recently gave birth to three kittens. She hid her kittens so we still couldn’t see the colours of her kittens. So, I followed the mother cat to a pile of old woods. The lighting wasn’t very good as the sky was grey all day with micro dust and Chemtrails. But I could see a tiny black kitten playing with the mother cat on the top of the pile of wood. I guessed the mother cat could only save one kitten several weeks ago from the heavy rain on the roof of the building. She had no idea that the weather could wreck havoc on her kittens. I hoped that the mother cat could keep this kitten safe and healthy.

During the last three years at this temple, I had experienced the pain of losing about five cats that were considered my special friends. This mother cat and her tiny kitten brought back my memories of the sadness of losing beloved cats. I wondered how she reacted to the loss of her two kittens. I would have been devastated for several weeks whenever my special cats were lost forever.

I have become used to feeding these temple cats as they have become my friends. Their trust and friendship were an amazing gift as these cats were honest with their emotions. That’s probably why I admired their characters so much and they gave me hope for a more affectionate and compassionate world. I wished more people would be able to appreciate the unique nature of these temple cats.

The temple cats are so fortunate to have you looking after them. It is certainly sad to lose the kittens, I can only imagine how the mother cat felt. : -(
