Thirty Days of Drawing — Day Three
I'm still very slowly working through a Thirty Days of Drawing. 😅 I've been enjoying getting back into my artistic side, and even better: it's been encouraging my son to draw a lot more often too.
This drawing was completed a few days ago, but I hadn't shared it yet due to my Steam NextFest posts and I really don't like posting more than once a day. So here I am, sharing it now! 😁
The prompts for this third drawing were: Moth, Sweet... and my first thought was a moth enjoying a delicious lollipop. And so here we are!

I started out with a basic moth-shape in the centre of the page.

Then worked on where I would like the lollipop. The lollipop is more of an oval than a circle, which was not my first intention. But due to paper size and an unwillingness to erase my moth and restart it, I just dealt with a non-circular lollipop. xD

Next I fluffed up my moth a bit. He's not a smooth, sleek butterfly after all — he's a moth!

And then I worked out what wing pattern I would like him to have.

Once all that was done and I was happy with the initial sketch, I started inking him in.

I also decided at this point that my original wing design was a bit too 'busy' and decided to tone it down a bit.

At this stage I moaned and groaned to myself, once more wishing that I bought a couple of fineliners in different thicknesses. I'm totally going to get a slightly thicker one for when I need to fill in. It's so tiresome doing it with such a fine pen.
I'm also going to get a super fine pen for shading purposes.
But that's not here or now. So I'll keep whinging about my lack of thick pen. xD

And ta-da! The sweet-enjoying moth is complete. 😊
The next prompts I'll be working on are: Woodland Paths and Machine.... and I'm really not quite sure what I'm going to do with that. I can see the woodland paths clearly in my mind, but a machine?
Perhaps a random slot machine in the middle of the woods? A confused robot roaming the paths? I guess we'll find out in coming days when the mood and inspiration strike!
Until next time!! 😊🦋✨
I'm sure come up with something very unique. I love your drawings.
Thanks! :) Hopefully something interesting pops into mind!
Ahhh it's so cuuuuuuuuute XD Also looks like it will be fun to colour later if you so feel the inclination :)
Totally get you on the posting thing, I don't like posting more than once a day either.
Yes! After all three of these drawings so far I've gotten the urge to colour them. xD I need some decent colours though. I would like to get some nice prismacolours. Although, the first drawing I did I wanted to paint it with some water colours.
I'm being attacked by the urge to art!!! XD
Least that's a good thing to be getting attacked by XD
So we have coloured versions to look forward to at some stage? Or at least more art?! :D
Maybe! xD We'll see how it goes... and if I manage to get my hands on some decent colouring things.
I'll be doing at least 27 more drawings, though! — I found someone on Instagram who does daily art prompts... I've mixed and matched her January and February's so I have two prompts for each drawing. 😃
