Star Wars: the Old Republic - reliving my sith's journey to Darth

I find myself venturing back into the world of Star Wars: the Old Republic.

A year or so ago, they released an Asian/Pacific server. Which was very nice of them. I miss my old Oceanic server when I first started playing back when the game first released. I was SO SAD when they removed our servers. And now we have one again. Thank the Force! 😜

Unfortunately it's too little too late; the server is practically empty. Somehow I managed to find a guild of 93 members!!!!! Want to know how many of those members were online? 2.

Either way: the ping is nice and the game is responsive. The auction house sucks and chat is non-existent, but I'm not really a social person anyway. I play for the story and my own headcanon. And credit making... which I won't be doing this time 'round with such a small population.

I transferred over my main character — a Light Side Sith Inquisitor, Aethya — then decided I wanted to make a new Inquisitor and experience the whole story all over again.

After a week of playing, I have officially finished my class story and am entering the Expansion of Revan and His Revanites.

For my Sithy Story, I wanted my character to be pretty neutral and try to maintain that fine line between light and dark. For the most part I did it pretty well! Until the moment it mattered.

For those who don't know, when it comes to the Sith Inquisitor, when you complete the story and join the Dark Council and become a Darth, your title is based on your alignment.

Lightside is Darth Imperius. Neutral Darth Occlus. And Darkside Darth Nox.

When I fought my character's antagonist and gained his seat in the Council... I had a whole whopping 350 more Lightside Points than Darkside Points... and became Darth Imperius.

Bah.

At least Imperius sounds cool, but I was trying so hard to retain my neutrality. 😅

Now that I've completed the main class story, I'm eager to get into the expansions and see what new content has been added!

I need to go through Revan and the Emperor first, and the Emperor's children in another galaxy, but after that... I'll be in new territory.

Now I'm trying to work out the most pressing of story issues - who to romance. Very important. Republic, Imperial, New Empire, who cares? Arcann or Theron, that's the question.

20250531191837_1.jpg

My Republic-siding Imperial Agent is with Theron, but from what I remember, he gets really angry at the things she does for the Republic in her role as double-agent. So I recall not really enjoying their relationship.

On the other hand, he and my Lightside Sithy got on splendidly as friends as she focussed on the Empire. So maybe if I'm not a traitor to my own people, it'll be better?

Who knows.

I'll need to make a decision soon enough though.

A lovely lady Sith with Theron, son of a Jedi Grandmaster? Or enemies-to-lovers with Arcann, son of the Emperor?

I've done some preliminary googling to see who has more content for these new expansions I haven't yet played - Onslaught and Legacy of the Sith. And apparently Arcann has "a surprising amount!" and even more surprising is Torian from the Bounty Hunter storyline.

Almost makes me want to jump back to that character too. I rather liked my Mandalorian Bounty Hunter.

But that's not now. That's later. Now is my new Inquisitor and her future.

Now we're off to Rishi to work with an undercover sith and republic agent to find out just what Revan is planning.

I, of course, am well aware of what he's planning. I've played this a bazillion times. XD But I'm enjoying experiencing the story again and am really looking forward getting to the new content.

It'll just take me a while to get there. XD

Until next time! ⚔️😄

I just got an email with the new update for this game. I haven't logged in for a while, I think it's been like a year, but I've been playing it A LOT! I'm now a Sith Lord after going through my acolyte process with Darth Baras. I don't know, being alone got me a little discouraged. However, I've made quite a bit of progress in my story, even after the last big update.

I'm going to download the game again today to continue, since I read some pretty interesting things in this 7.7 update.

I particularly love this Star Wars game because you can play your own story within the Old Republic story of Star Wars. It's also amazing to see how this story complements the books, like KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2.

I don't remember which server I was playing on. I'm already downloading the game again, haha. I hope it's active!

😃😃😃

I love this game so much. I've completed all of the storylines so many times........ except the Republic Trooper - I just can't get into it. 😩 It's holding me back from my golden Legendary nameplate.

Sith Warrior was my first! Some of the dialogue, especially with Baras, is hilarious if you choose the right options. XD

I'm sure your server will be active! 😊 Unless you also join the new Oceanic server. Unfortunately it's a common thing for APAC servers and why most games don't implement them. We're a fickle bunch. Screaming for our own servers and then staying on North American ones anyway.

I've been trying to finish mine for a while now, hahaha. I'm still a long way from that golden plaque. I hope to do it someday, but I don't know if I can, hahaha.

I quit Darth Baras, but I think I've now found myself with a bunch of active quests, and since I haven't played in so long, it's like, "I don't know what I'm doing or what I'm supposed to do?" I need to log back in and find a way to cancel the active quests I have and at least restart those from the beginning so I can remember.

Thank you so much for your reply. If the server wasn't that dead, at least on the planet I was on, there were 53 people. I don't know the total server, but there were a few.

Amazing gameplay! Especially the journey of the Sith character felt like a movie. Very few people can write such a beautiful experience about Star Wars: The Old Republic. I really liked it.

Doesn't it discourage you? I mean, every gamer likes to interact or, in my case, complete dungeons with lots of other people (I'm talking about online games in general), and honestly, when I see that a server (for any game) is empty, it discourages me, even though in your post you say that you like the story and you're taking it slowly, right? Cheers.

Thankfully with Star Wars, all of the dungeons (and raids!!!) have a story mode so you can still experience them and get a bit of gear and knowledge as to what's going on. :)

I just like to see a full server! Knowing that there's other people around. Who I can sell my stuff to on the auction house. XD I'm very much a solo player, but I like the feeling of a full world.

Oof, that population count hits hard. But it's cool how you're embracing the solo story vibe. I felt that Oceanic nostalgia, btw.

Thankfully SWTOR is very playable as a solo person! 😄

Are you also an Oceanic gamer, long-suffering with the high ping of an NA server?
