Path of Exile — Settlers of Kalguur — Finally levelling a little more

avatar

During my past couple of days of playing Path of Exile I decided to try and focus a little more on levelling.

Once you reach level 90 or so, it gets pretty difficult to level up further... Path of Exile has a rather unforgiving XP loss mechanic if you have the audacity to die. And since the game is full of one-shot mechanics, it gets a bit tiresome. 😅

So. I decided to do a wholllleeee lot of delving.

There are so many endgame activities in Path of Exile! And delving is possibly my favourite. Chasing a minecart through the twisting tunnels, defeating everything in our path, finding piles of loot and secret areas. It's just, to get the fuel for the minecart you need to do normal maps as well.

There are so many different pathways to go and a couple of bosses to find, too. Also there's the crafting recipe for six-linking items hiding in the depths somewhere... it'll be really nice to finally find that.

But delve. I find this activity the best to level up in, the safest with death occurring at the minimum. At least until 95 or so when you just don't get that much XP anymore. Then you need to brave proper maps but juiced to the max with as many mobs as you can jam into them.

Thankfully there are a couple of 'omens' you can hold in your inventory these days that make dying a little less traumatic. Omens that give you a minute of boosted XP upon levelling, and omens that prevent 75% of XP loss upon death.

So, while delving is very enjoyable - I also need to do maps to find fuel for the minecart. I've decided to do a bunch of Alva and her treasure temples while carefully gathering fuel for the mine.

I don't really enjoy doing the finished temple. But I do enjoy planning and making the temple map by opening certain rooms, making sure they're linked to other rooms, and making sure I get the Apex unlocked. And then I sell the maps! Haha. Sold one for a Divine Orb last night, which was very nice. Most go for around 20 chaos orbs, so it feels really good to have made a great map for someone.

Speaking of Divine Orbs. I finally had one drop while mapping! Yay!

I'm currently the owner of 6 Divine Orbs. And there's a jewel that I want... and that's going to set me back 10 Divine Orbs. xD Need to find moar, make moar!

Thanks to the in-game currency trader, I've been making so much more than I normally would. It's not a hassle selling small value items that I'd otherwise have to wait days for people to whisper me for, and then actually stop what I'm doing for minimal reward.

I'm REALLY HOPING they introduce an in-game item trader too. That'll be so fantastic.

Another thing I thought was cool with this current league... PIRATE ATTACKS.

For the first time, one of my ships was going off on its business, making a delivery to some far-flung town, when I got a message saying that it had been taken by pirates.

I raced back to Kingsmarch and spoke to my shipping director, opened a portal, and got to work saving my ship. I could also abandon it if I wanted to, but no, I am the saviour! When you go into the portal you are greeted by a pirate captain who seems to have as much health as the Searing Exarch/Eater of Worlds, and you must defeat him to save the ship and its men and cargo.

I did it first go, thankfully... as I'm not sure if you can go back through the portal and try again if you have the misfortune to die. xD

So at the moment, my templar is level 93 and a half. I'm going to grab some of those omens I mentioned earlier in the post to further protect his levelling adventure.

The highest level character I've ever had is a level 95. One of these days I would love to hit level 100. Maybe this templar will be the one to do it??

Only time will tell! xD

Until next time! 😄🎮⚔️

This league looks like a ton of fun. Shame I can't be bothered playing the campaign for 10 hours before getting to endgame again when I have so many other games I want to play.

Yeah I totally get it. I would love an alternate levelling path with an Adventure Mode like Diablo has. They've shown they can do it, too. What with the various challenges they usually do in December like levelling in Delve only, or Heist only.

Hopefully Path of Exile 2 has something like that!

I remember when I played this video game for the first time, it was very fun, but my computer could not support some things when you faced many enemies at the same time with the amount of special effects it has when you use the skills, it was very good, to see that it has so many players makes me happy because it really deserves it, it is a good game.

Yeah, unfortunately it does get a bit crazy with the enemies and effects. When I played on my old gaming laptop, it would sometimes freeze for a second then zoom around all crazy after the hitch worked itself out. 😅 It could get very unplayable.

It is a really good game though, and its free-to-play model with cosmetic-only cash shop is definitely something other f2p companies should take note of.
