Speak Graciously
The world has gone toxic with all the difficulties in making ends meet. It's like there's a never ending problem that erupts each day. I go out each day and I'm filled with emotions that burns in my heart seeing families, especially women and children homeless on the streets with no one to fight for them. Their voice is lost in the air, in the noisy chaos of the problems that surrounds them, with no one to speak up for them.
I don't have much to offer either, because just like them, I'm also fighting my own battles, the difference is that I'm strategic at aiming my blows to ensure I don't miss a punch. The worst thing that can happen to anyone is to be homeless. You are at your most vulnerable point when you are homeless and anything can happen, it can be worse as loosing ones life to ritualist or organ farmers. It has happened a lot recently with dead bodies dumped by the roadside with missing body parts.
We live in a very scary world where people do the most outrageous for the sake of money. They have lost their soul in the quest for wealth and don't care about what they have to do in order to achieve their means.
I may not have much to offer these ones, but I can emphasize with them and comfort them so they don't loose hope. Hope is the powerful force that keeps up together not to shatter into pieces in the midst of chaos. Hope gives us the reason to live for another day and fight for survival because we wish for a better life, to get out of the dump and position our mind and thoughts in what we aim for.
This account of the bible always calls to mind and helps me in situations like this "Let your words be gracious,seasoned with salt"...
This is one thought provoking scripture that helps me pause and think deeply about the words I say to people when I meet them. I want to speak kindly and with compassion. We all need a little act of love, respect and understanding when dealing with others.
People are fighting silent battles. Mental disorder,anxieties and suicide is common today because there's no one to encourage and give them something to rekindle their Hope. I want my words to be a healing. To rekindle their lost hope and the fire that burns with zeal for a better tomorrow.
I want my words to be seasoned with salt, gracious and comforting, like a tasty meal, dished out with love. ❤️❤️❤️

While having a conversation with one of my colleagues today, he complained how it hasn't been easy for them to manage in the one room and parlour they're occupying now after moving out from a 2-bedroom and parlour. I told him that he's blessed to have a roof over his head because so many people live on the streets, open to all manners of danger.
It's really sad that the country we live in isn't doing anything to make living comfortabe for its citizens. People are going through tough times and no one knows when all these will end.
Even when you don't have anything to give out, showing empathy and speaking words of encouragement will go a long way to bring hope to those in difficult situations.

We just have to encourage each other and be kind to people around us. Times are harder now..... we only hope it gets better 🙏 😌

It’s thoughtful to think about those weak at heart and comfort them with words of hope and love. People are going through a lot already and the least we can do when we get the chance is to be the reason for a smile and not the opposite.
