Exploring Delta Oleh, Irri - Nigeria
I'm happy to share my first amazing and exciting visit to Delta State. To be honest, the visit is supposed to be a solemn one because of the reason behind the trip in the first place. I switched it into a fun time and an opportunity to explore the city since it's my first time, and I had no idea when I would get such an opportunity next time.
The journey was between 9 hours and 10 hours road trip starting from Lagos where we took off from in a hired Siena bus. We passed through four different states (Lagos, Ogun, Ibandan, Ondo, Benin) before we found ourselves in Delta through Benin. Instead of following Asaba, which is the capital of Delta to get to Isoko, we went through the villages of Benin City to escape traffic in Asaba. Taking Benin village route led us to Abraka, where the state university is. I was happy to finally see the state university in Delta, but I couldn't take a picture because the car drove fast.
*HOTEL RESERVATIONS*
We made hotel reservations in one of the best hotels in Delta. At first, I felt the room price was a bit high because it was almost the same as hotel prices in Lagos. When I eventually arrived there, I forgot about the cost because the hotel was homey with a comfortable orthopedic bed, water heater, a working air conditioner, which I made sure I used until my last seconds in the hotel (I enjoyed my money in full).
*MORNING WALK*
I also enjoyed early morning walks during my short trip to Delta, which is something we hardly get to experience in big cities like Lagos because of its busyness. I woke up early to take a walk and get to know my environment. It was a cool morning with dew hanging in the air, I took pictures of my peaceful environment with very few people on the road because it was early. I made sure to follow the same track back to the hotel so as not to miss my way.
I was also surprised to see that they have beautiful, modern houses there. I felt like I was still in Lagos. The people in Delta seemed to be living fine and doing great, and they have modernized, not what we visualized it to be, and I'm happy about it.
That's all for now friends . Hope you enjoyed the trip with me... see you on my next post. Warm regards @kachy2022 🤗❤️❤️
