Dreams, Life and Reality
Hello friends, welcome to this week #scifimultiverse prompt #smp-w18. Growing up, I envisioned myself as first a doctor, a lawyer, and then a banker. Dreams are free of charge, and that being the case, everyone is allowed to dream as much as they can.
Life is full of changes, and so are our desires and life course. Growing up, I wanted to be a doctor just because I wanted to save lives, to help people, especially those who are poor and struggling but I have one major setback and that is fear of seeing blood. I realized that I couldn't handle needle and syringe, let alone major tasks like surgeries. I realized that being a doctor won't work for me because of my fear, and even to my writing this blog, I still battle with fear of blood and seeing injuries.
Along the line, my interest drifted to wanting to be a lawyer, and this was motivated by a senior friend of mine whom I admired so much, and she was a lawyer. Being a lawyer would also help me defend the rights of the poor who faced injustices because of their financial status. I also wanted to change the popular narrative that "not all lawyers are liars". Unfortunately, pursuing law was a very expensive course, and not going to a law school after obtaining a first degree from the university is as good as choosing a different path.
When being a lawyer didn't work out because of financial setbacks, I thought about becoming a banker and pursuing a banking cause but I was opportuned to meet with a banker who had worked in the banking sector for years, she told me how banking was an enslavement, not having time for anything except the bank and her reasons for quitting after a long time working there. I love having my time with family and my ministry, so her experience didn't sit well with me, so I decided to apply for a course in public administration with marketing as my major.
After school, I realized that marketing wasn't really what I wanted as organizations weren't handling their marketing department as I wanted. I went further to study a course in special needs education where I work with children on the spectrum to date. Some changes in life help us navigate to a path that will help us become better. Working with people on the spectrum has taught me resilience, to be grateful for what I have, and to be appreciative, as I do my best to help them.
If I have another opportunity, would I like to live my childhood dreams? The answer is NO! I would rather bury it in the past and become better at what I do now or pursue a course in Ai (artificial intelligence), coding, and a data analyst or other related courses.
This is my response to this week #scifimultiverse prompt #smp-w18. Tell me what you think in my dm. Enjoy your weekend friends.
Virtual hugs 🫂 from @kachy2022 🤗 ❤️❤️
The world is moving towards technology and automation, I think pursuing an AI course is good.
Exactly 💯! Thanks for stopping by.
Wow, this is a great story. I loved reading every paragraph you wrote, because we really never know where life will take us. I really like that you found your calling and that you are helping so many people with it. In my case, I always knew I wanted to be a singer, but I went through several careers and jobs, trying different things or maybe to earn more money, but no, I ended up being a singer, ha ha ha, and even now I think life could continue to change. We'll see, the important thing is to enjoy the journey.
Have a great weekend my friend!
Thanks for your comment. The most important thing is doing what makes us happy and impacting in others
Thanks 😊
The Joy in the end is that you came across a profession you love, not many are this lucky
You are right ✅️. But not giving up easily will help us get to the path that will make us happy.
That's true
Life is full of changes. Any big change can happen at any time. I have seen many people who are born poor, but as soon as they enter adulthood, they become the owners of a huge amount of wealth. And often, there is an alternative. People who are born rich are forced to live like the poor. Why do these changes happen and what could be the reason for them? These changes are only caused by nature, and human hard work and intention play a huge role in this.
Yes, that's why we need to be intentional about what we want to achieve and work hard towards it. There should also be backup plans and few investments in case things go sour as unexpected events can overtake us at any time.
Thanks for stopping by.
girl that's a lot of dreams right there. As a child we have different dreams of who we want to become in the future. Am glad you finally found one that made you happy, secured and confident. Be the best at what you do and soonest, the result will be massive.
Thanks so much. We all had different dreams as children, some even weird 😄😃😀
Life is so unpredictable, it's a great thing that you found a great path .
