An interesting walk to Orile-Doyin and Igamu

Holla friends, I'm happy to share another walk experience from today walk. The good thing is that I wasn't alone as I had company, which made it all the more fun as we discussed along the way, laughing and taking note of the changes on the major roads.

The walk started from the first express road closest to my house. I and hubby walked 10 minutes, crossed the pedestrian bridge to the other side, and boarded a bus to Orile. But before Orile, at Mile 2, we noticed a lot of good changes as there's a lot of ongoing construction of roads and bridges. I was surprised to see how much change has happened in less than a year. The last time I was on that road was November 2024, which was 7 months ago. I was really impressed to see the good changes but was scared to take out my phone to get a picture as the area was known for theft and other crime scene and I definitely don't want to lose my phone.

We got to Alaba and passed the station, and we continued to Igamu station, I was able to get a shot of the Igamu Station from a distance. The station is also another recent development of an electronic transportation aid to reduce the struggles of bus shortage which has lead to kidnap of many innocent people on the road who were offered free rides just to meet up with work time.

The Mile 2 station is one of the stops on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line. This started operation in September 2023 with a 13 kilometer phase from Marina to Mile 2.
It is an electric powered train system and it's first in my country. I know this has been in existence years ago in developed countries.

The road at Orile was a very busy one as there are mini markets on the roads and street hawkers. I took a shot of an okro seller, the okra looks fresh and green, and I had to do an impromptu purchase. Thankfully, I had extra cash to save the day. I left my house by 10 am and got back by 2pm famished....
