A Talk With My Younger Self

Hello friends, it's another week to engage with the @indiaunited community #contest. This week theme is "if you could talk to your younger self?" and it kept me thinking for days as to how far have come and the obstacles I had to overcome to get where I am today.

Talking to myself
Looking at myself in the mirror and seeing a reflection of my younger self would be a happy moment for me because I have a lot to say in appreciation to younger me. When I look back to how I fought, struggled, and worked hard to obtain my degree, starting a small business single handedly in school just to take care of myself and lessen the burden on my mother and still having a close relationship with God in my most hardest moments are worth emulating and celebrating and my younger self deserves the accolade for being brave and standing up to make good decisions.

Back in school, there were a lot of distractions and lots of opportunities to get exposed to the wrong acts and lifestyles of students in pursuit of a luxurious life but I didn't go for any of that, I choose a right choice and stuck to my purpose of entering the university in the first place.

I had good friends, they didn't come easily, of course, I worked for it, and they became a good source of encouragement for me to chase my goals and remain focused. Having friends who have the same goals matters a lot as they can motivate you not to give up and be a source of strength to accomplish ones goal.

I know I didn't get to achieve all I would have loved to as a younger person, and I would do better if given a second chance but I'm still grateful to my younger self for bringing me this far. I know I can still achieve some of my goals if I don't give up, and I don't plan to give up anytime soon.

To my younger self, I say thank you for being brave, kind, lovely, and a source of comfort to others. If I can change anything now, then it would be procrastination, but I'm also working towards it.

We can't relive old life, but we can make the best memories of the life we live now

Certainly, we can't redo the things we have done in our younger days, but we can make good memories from them. We can also learn from them and live a better version of our lives. Thank you for sharing.
