RE: My Take on the "Healthy Tax" Idea

This idea of healthy taxes makes sense because higher prices always make people buy less and somehow question whether it is worth spending so much money on something that is harmful to them. The basic idea is good but if all the support measures you mentioned are not implemented people will continue to buy from smugglers and on the black market as they did during Prohibition, these taxes should be used to help people not just to generate revenue for the government, it seems that the trick is to make bad things more expensive and at the same time offer people better options.
