Why Your Phone Battery Dies So Fast — and What to Do About It.
One thing I hear people around me complain about a lot is how fast their phone battery drains. You hear things like, “I just charged this phone!” or “It was 100% a few minutes ago, now it’s 50%.”
Sometimes, I’m also guilty of that frustration. You charge your phone up to 100%, then scroll through Instagram for about 20 minutes, watch one or two YouTube videos, and boom — it has declined massively. It’s honestly annoying. But let’s be real: most of the time, it’s not just bad luck — the battery is already getting weak.
However, the good news is that there are a few simple things we can do to help preserve our phone’s battery life and keep it healthy for a long period of time.
First of all, use a quality charger.
This one is major. I’ve seen people use any charger they find lying around — some even buy the cheap ones by the roadside just because it’s “fast.” But those chargers can actually damage your battery. Some of them get your phone so hot while charging, you’ll be scared to even touch it. That heat isn’t just uncomfortable — it’s silently killing your battery.
Secondly, limit background apps.
A lot of people don’t realize that some apps keep running even when you’re not using them. Your phone may look idle, but behind the scenes, apps are updating, syncing, and draining your battery. Personally, I’ve had to turn off background data for apps I don’t use often. It really helps me stretch my battery through the day.
Another underrated tip is using dark mode.
I have been using dark mode for years now , and trust me, it makes a big difference — especially if your phone has an AMOLED screen. The only downside is that sometimes during the day, you might struggle to see your screen clearly and end up increasing brightness, which kind of cancels the effect. But at night or indoors, it’s a battery-saver for sure.
Lastly, try not to charge and press your phone at the same time.
This one is hard because let’s be honest — most of us are guilty of doing it. But then pressing your phone while charging makes it heat up faster, and over time, that heat damages the battery cells. I used to do it a lot, but I’ve been trying to reduce it, especially when I’m using power banks or when NEPA brings light and I get tempted to multitask.
At the end of the day, your battery won’t last forever. But how you treat it every day can make a big difference in how long it stays strong.

I think I will turn off the background of app I'm not using because my phone battery is not good and strong the reason is that immediately my phone reach 40 or 30% without pressing it, it will be draining itself and it's getting frustrating day by day. And I think I will stop pressing my phone when charging because I'm fond of pressing my phone while charging.
Thank you sir, this is helpful.
I hope we overcome that temptation of charging and pressing phone at the same time 😄.
