Why I’d Choose Both Humans and AI to Run My Company.

Hello everyone!

I would be answering the question, which says, "If I were to start my own company, would i rather have humans work for me or AI agents?"

To be honest, I think the most effective and balanced approach would be a combination of both. Let me explain why.

We live in a time where AI is changing the way the world operates. It has made work easier, faster, and sometimes even more accurate. Most businesses now make use of AI tools to improve their customer service, analyze data, manage tasks, and reduce stress on human employees. Personally, I’ve experienced how helpful AI can be. Not too long ago, I had an issue with Access Bank. I bought airtime through their platform, but unfortunately, I wasn’t credited. I had to go to their website to file a complaint, and it was an AI agent that first attended to me. It asked for my details, collected the necessary information about the problem, and then passed me on to a human representative. That process saved time. The AI had already done the basic groundwork, and all the human agent had to do was help me resolve the issue.

This is exactly how I would love to structure my business and run my company.

The AI agents would be extremely useful in handling repetitive and time-consuming tasks—things like answering frequently asked questions, processing orders, scheduling appointments, sending reminders, and even analyzing customer feedback. It never gets tired, doesn’t need breaks, and can work without getting tired or asking for a raise in salary unlike humans. So, from a business perspective, AI would help to increase productivity and cut down costs.

However, no matter how intelligent AI becomes, I strongly believe that it can never truly replace the human touch. Human beings bring empathy, emotional understanding, and a genuine connection that no AI agent can offer. If someone is angry or frustrated over a product issue or delay, they don’t just want fast answers—they want to feel heard. They want someone who understands their emotions and can calm them down. That’s where human employees come in. A successful business must be able to connect emotionally with its customers, and i believe only humans can do that effectively.

Another very important reason I would hire humans is because of the current state of unemployment, especially in a country like Nigeria. Job opportunities are limited, and a lot of people are struggling just to make ends meet. If I were to create a company and rely entirely on AI, I’d be taking away the chance for real people to earn a living, support their families, and contribute to society. And to me, that’s not right. I’d rather use my company to provide jobs and make a difference in people’s lives.

So at the end of the day, while I would definitely take advantage of AI for efficiency and speed, I would never remove the human aspect of business. I believe the heart of every business should be people. People who are passionate, thoughtful, and capable of creating real value—not just for the company, but for every customer they come across.

Thanks for reading.

Exactly! People want to feel heard. Yea in terms of handling repetitive tasks, AI agents can come in handy. But the business should not lose sight of the fact that humans are a necessary tool in it’s development process.

Tech is great but we can forget the humans behind every economy, every household. This was a great take. Loved reading it

AI really helps us a lot in many things but yes we can't forget about human skills and their services. It's really good to have humans for our company too 😺
