My Samsung A13 Battery Experience: Challenges and Smart Management Tips.

I’ve been using my Samsung A13 for almost three years now, and honestly, it’s been a solid phone. I don’t regret buying it at all because it has helped me in so many ways. But like most phones, as time passes, the battery doesn’t last as long as it used to. I’ve also noticed that the way the battery drains depends a lot on what I’m doing.

For example, when I’m just using apps like WhatsApp or twitter, my battery percentage doesn’t really go down too fast. But the moment I start playing video games, watching movies or scrolling through TikTok, it’s a different story. Watching videos, especially with my data on, makes my battery drop really fast. If I stay there too long, I can literally see the percentage go down bad in front of me.

Another thing I’ve observed is that my phone gets hot sometimes, and I suspect it’s because my storage is almost full. I have just 64GB of space, which isn't enough for me, but since I’ve used up most of it, my phone slows down a bit and heats up sometimes. I personally think that having high storage usage somehow affects battery life, but I can’t say for sure.

Regardless, I’ve put some things in place to help my battery last longer. The first thing I do is always keep my phone on power-saving mode. I feel like this has really helped reduce unnecessary battery drain. I also try to keep my brightness low because I know how much battery a bright screen can consume. Plus, my phone is always in dark mode, which I also think makes a difference.

Another thing I do is put unused apps to sleep so they don’t run in the background. I’ve also turned off background data for all my apps because I have quite a lot of them, and I don’t want them consuming battery when I’m not even using them. Then the last thing i do sometimes is just try and avoid certain apps especially on days when i need my battery to last. For instance, when I know there won’t be power for a long time, I stay away from apps like TikTok since it drains my battery very fast.

Right now, when my phone is fully charged, it can last between 12 to 14 hours, but this depends on how I use it. Sometimes, I charge my phone multiple times a day, especially when I’m at home. If I suspect that there won’t be light for long hours, I make sure to charge my phone to 100%. I can even plug it in at 85% for it to get to 100 again. That way, I know I can use my phone for a long time without constantly worrying about having power or not.

But now that I’m in school, my charging habits are different. Here, I don’t rush to charge my phone because I know there will still be power later in the day. There are times when I don’t even charge my phone from morning to night because I’m sure that there will be power whenever i decide to charge it.

At the end of the day, managing battery life is all about understanding your phone and your usage habits. I try my best to use power-saving settings, avoid battery-draining apps when necessary, and charge wisely based on the situation. That way, I get the most out of my phone without having to worry too much about the battery dying unexpectedly.

Thanks for reading.

Another thing I do is put unused apps to sleep so they don’t run in the background.

This is very important, because if we don't do this, some apps we aren't using will just keep running in the background and will keep draining our battery.

Yeah there are alot of apps i am even considering letting go of because they are just taking unnecessary space.
