When I think about my most amazing musical experience, my mind immediately goes back to May 2024, when I joined Hive and participated in my first music contest in the Vibes Community. It was a moment that did not only pushed me out of my comfort zone but also left a lasting impression on me.

It all started when the person who introduced me to Hive suggested that I join the Vibes Community. At first, I hesitated because singing wasn’t something I considered myself good at. I’ve always been more of a dancer—music, for me, was about moving my body and feeling the rhythm. So, when he told me to give it a try, my immediate response was to turn him down.

But he didn’t let me off that easily. He kept encouraging me, telling me that Hive was about trying new things, discovering hidden talents, and connecting with people who would appreciate my efforts. His words started to sink in, and after some reflection, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and give it a shot.

At the time, I was in school and faced a major hurdle: my phone camera. It wasn’t great, and I worried that the quality of my video wouldn’t be up to standard. Still, I didn’t want to let that stop me. I found a quiet spot, recorded the best video I could manage, and uploaded it to my YouTube channel. Then, I copied the link and shared it as my first post on Hive. That was the beginning of something special.

When I published that post, I was filled with anxiety. I remember sitting there, my heart racing, wondering how people would react. Would they criticize my singing? Would anyone even listen? This was my first time putting myself out there like this, and I was terrified of being judged.

But then it went well. The support I received from the Vibes Community and the Hive platform as a whole was overwhelming. People were kind, encouraging, and genuinely appreciative of my effort. I saw comments praising my performance and encouraging me to keep going, and for the first time, I felt like my voice mattered—even if I wasn’t a professional singer.

The real icing on the cake was when I saw that the post had earned $12. I was stunned. I had never imagined that sharing my music could lead to any kind of reward, let alone on my very first attempt. It wasn’t just about the money, though—it was the validation, the recognition, and the realization that I could be part of something bigger than myself.

When I shared the news with the person who had introduced me to Hive, he was ecstatic. He kept saying, “I knew you could do it!” His excitement made the moment even more special because it reminded me of how important it is to have someone who believes in you, even when you don’t believe in yourself.

To this day, I still consider that my most amazing musical experience in 2024—not because of my performance was actually okay, but because of the courage it took to try, the kindness of the community, and the sense of accomplishment that came from doing something I never thought I could do. That moment taught me that sometimes, the best experiences come from stepping out of your comfort zone and just having faith in yourself.
