I've traveled quite a lot using different transportation vehicles, and along the way, I've experienced both the good and the bad that comes with it.
My best experience
My best trip was last year when I traveled home for Christmas with my friends. We decided to split the fare and hire a cab together, which was a great decision because it meant there were no random passengers—just us. Now, If you’ve ever traveled with friends, you’d understand how much fun it can be. The endless gist, the random jokes, and the excitement of just being together made the journey much more interesting.
But what made this particular trip even better was the driver.
From the moment we got into the car, he started vibing with us. He wasn’t one of those moody or overly serious drivers who just focus on the road in silence. Instead, he was chatting, laughing, and even throwing in his own jokes. It honestly felt like we had known him for years.
Another thing I loved about the trip was how prepared he was. Normally, a lot of drivers would stop midway at filling stations to buy fuel, wasting time and making the journey longer. But this man was different. He had already fueled the vehicle before we left, so there were no unnecessary stops. The road was free, the weather was nice, and before we knew it, we had reached our destination safely and on time. Everything about that journey just clicked perfectly, and honestly, if I had the chance to experience it again, I wouldn’t hesitate.
Now, my worst travel experience? That one is a completely different story, and honestly, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
It happened in my third year at university when I was returning to school after the holidays. That trip was so stressful that even remembering it now makes me shake my head.
I left home in the afternoon and got to the car park. Thankfully, the car filled up quickly, so we didn’t have to wait long before starting the journey. Everything seemed normal at first, and I had no idea that I was about to experience one of the longest, most frustrating trips of my life.
At that time, the main bridge leading to my school was under construction, so both incoming and outgoing vehicles had to use a narrow, rough alternative route. This caused serious traffic congestion.
We got stuck in that traffic for hours. And I’m not even exaggerating. The car would move a little, then stop. Move again, stop again. It was so bad that some people even bought food and ate inside the car because there was nothing else to do.
The worst part? Evening was fast approaching, and we were still in the holdup.
By the time we finally got out of the holdup, I was already exhausted. But as if things weren’t bad enough, it started raining heavily. The road leading to my school was already in a terrible condition, filled with potholes and mud. So with the rain pouring down, it became even harder to drive through.
The driver was struggling, but what made it worse was that his front mirror had issues. Even though the wipers were working, he couldn’t see properly. The road was dark, and when I looked outside the window, all I could see were bushes. There were barely any other cars on the road, and the entire situation just felt eerie.
At that point, I was done. I just sat there, praying silently. What if something happened to the car?
What if we got stuck in the middle of nowhere?
What if this journey never ended?
My mind was filled with all sorts of thoughts, and honestly, I had never been that anxious on a journey before. By the time I finally got to school, I was completely drained. A trip that was supposed to take about an hour turned into a long, stressful trip. But at the end of the day, I just thanked God that I arrived safely.
That experience taught me one thing—never take a smooth journey for granted because, honestly, some trips will humble you.

Splitting the fare with your friends can ease the pressure and make the journey better, traveling is fun sometimes but sometimes you are left asking yourself questions.
Actually journey like this are always interesting, especially when you have an active driver, who vibe to his passagers.
However the worse experience is a serious one, especially when it get to do with traffic...
Traveling with friends have alot of vibes..
