A glimpse into my school life.

To be honest, my school doesn’t really engage in a lot of fun activities throughout most of the year. It’s mostly focused on studies and discipline, so things can sometimes feel a bit serious or routine. But, that changes every second semester when we get to do some exciting stuff like picnics, dinner nights, and even football competitions between different colleges. Those events really bring a spark of energy and fun to the school community, and everyone looks forward to them.

When it comes to dressing, there’s a strict dress code that we all have to follow. From Monday to Thursday, the boys are required to dress in corporate wear. That means ties, shirts, and proper shoes are a must. It’s a smart and formal way of dressing, which can feel a little uncomfortable sometimes, especially when you just want to relax. On top of that, every student must wear their ID card at all times. This rule is pretty serious because it helps with security and also reminds everyone that we’re part of the school community.

One thing I really like about my school is this popular little spot on campus. It’s not very big, but it’s like a mini market where students go to do different things. Some students get their hair plaited there, while others buy gadgets like power banks, phones, and other accessories. It’s kind of like a hangout place for students to catch up or get stuff they need without leaving school grounds. It’s pretty convenient and adds a bit of life to our daily routine.

Another thing that might be a unique thing about my school is the fact that that it’s church-owned ans because of this, we normally go to church about three times a week, which is something different compared to other schools. For some students, this is a chance to reflect and find calmness in the middle of a busy academic life. It also brings a sense of community and shared values, which I think is special.

Lastly, my school really recognizes hard work. At the end of each year, there’s an award ceremony for the best students. The student with the highest CGPA gets a cash prize of 1 million naira, which is a huge motivation. The second-best student gets 700 thousand naira, and the third gets 300 thousand naira. These awards encourage everyone to work hard and push themselves, knowing that their efforts won’t go unnoticed.

So, while my school may not always be the most fun place every day, it’s a place where discipline, community, and hard work come first. And when the exciting events do happen, they remind us all to enjoy ourselves too.

Thanks for reading.

Wow... Your school awards such huge cash prizes to hardworking and serious students??! That's surprising and equally admirable. Every student will be eager to study harder than never inorder to receive one of the prizes.

The hangout spot really adds a lively atmosphere to the school environ as it provides a venue for students to catch up on each other lives.
