There is saying I'm fond of and I sometimes use the line to flirt with women, LOL:

"Your imperfections make it Perfect".

Intro

Is there anything like bad art?

This is a pretty subjective topic because what one person hates, another might love. What makes one person smile might make another frown. What moves one person to tears might leave someone else unimpressed.

Backstory

If you're familiar with the movie Titanic, you would recall that Jack was a really good painter and one day, his lover Rose decided to strip and let Jack paint her naked. I also draw a bit myself and after watching that scene, I thought to myself that in the future, I would want to recreate that kind of Art.

Don't get me wrong, not out of lust but because the I admired the trust and vulnerability the moment captured. I told this to someone and the person didn't like that kind of Art, to them it was indecent and quite unnecessary while another person thought it was a romantic move.

Truth is, Art doesn't really have to please everyone, it's is a form of expression that reflects your feelings and emotions. So how can it be termed "bad" when it was merely just expressing your inner thoughts and emotions.

You see, while I believe every art is unique in its own way, maybe there is bad art if it fails to communicate its message clearly, it lacks effort, or disrespects the craft. For example, if someone creates art for the purpose of offending, deceiving, or to mock others, that's a derogatory behavior and the motive behind the Art makes it bad Art.

High school Drama

There was a time was I was in Junior High school and my English teacher was teaching us types of sentences: simple, compound and complex sentences. (Lol, surprised I remembered that). So, she wanted us to be creative with it and gave a task for each of us to form our own sentences and write it out based on the types listed.

My classmate Tony used the opportunity of the teachers instruction "to be creative" and made sentences that indirectly insulted another classmate. You see, being creative is Art but it becomes bad when done in this manner.

Perspective

Some people judge art based on skill but I believe those imperfections in the stroke of the brush or pencil is actually what makes it perfect and much more expressive. Some Artist look beyond the surface and love to dive deep in creating a piece that's abstract and have a deeper meaning and story.

Art is so subjective...

Like, something that looks like crap to one person could be a masterpiece tomorrow in the eyes of someone else. I guess that's the beautiful enigma of Art, it keeps evolving, and so do our eyes and perspective.

Conclusion

So in summary, I believe there is no bad Art, it might just be misunderstood by another eyes or unfinished by the hands of the Artist.
