I agree with you, ethics tends to be more profitable on the long run.
I had similar experience when I wanted to buy a shoe from a shop. I just angrily left cos of the bad attitude and overpricing.

And it's so surprising that many of them don't see that as issue to solve, more customers will keep leaving them angrily.
