I Finally Met a Hive Friend in Real Life

Its been nine months since I got onboard hive and honestly, it's been a blast. I have made new friends and have learned firsthand how being in a community helps you grow.

I came here to gist you guys about something exciting that happened recently.
So, I linked up with a friend I first met here on Hive, for the very first time in real life! @justfavour and I met on Hive last year, and we were lucky enough to finally see each other face-to-face last week.

How We First Crossed Paths on Hive 👣

Justfavour and I first met during a Hive chess tournament organized by @stayoutoftherz in the chess community. I noticed him as an opponent, he was a really good player who gave me a tough time, LOL. Back then, we never had a formal discussion or even got aquatinted, we only played chess.

Some time later, we bumped into each other again, this time in the Neoxian City Discord server. I was surprised to see that familiar username pop up in the chat channels. That's when we properly got to know each other and talked more. He was already serving as a City Teacher in Neoxian City, and funny enough, I later advanced to that same role too. It was even more amusing that both our hive usernames start with "just".

Fast forward to last week ⏲

I got a message from Justfavour saying he was in Unilag. He had traveled all the way from Ekiti to Lagos to attend to some activities and thought it'd be cool for us to link up. We met at the sports center in Unilag. We discussed at length and even had discussions on helping each other grow more on hive. We took pictures before saying our goodbyes. I hated that we had to say our goodbyes without having more fun and exploring Lagos.

@justfavour, next time, I'm treating you to a meal at the best spot in Unilag. You probably would have heard of Mavis, Seun's spaghetti or even the famous Korede's spaghetti.

Moments like these remind me that Hive is so much more than just a social media platform, it's a real community where you can meet amazing people and build friendships that last.
