Superman To The Rescue

Growing up, my siblings and I used to watch a lot of superhero movies. These movies did not just stay within the walls of our house, we also talked about them in school, church, literally everywhere where there were kids. The discussions were always interesting with my classmates, in particular. We could spend several minutes discussing a superhero; whether it was how Batman could beat Ironman or how Spider-Man was everyone’s favorite. I grew up in the world of fictional characters, mostly superheroes and it sure was nice. I remember how I used to envision myself having superpowers just like my favorite fictional characters or the things I would do if they were real and I was in a room with them. Interestingly, today’s Hive Learner’s prompt is about fictional characters.

For today’s Hive Learners’ topic, the community asks an interesting question: if you were to go missing or you were kidnapped by dangerous people and had to choose one fictional character to come rescue you, who would it be? First off, God forbid that I find myself in such a situation. No one would like to go missing or get kidnapped just so a superhero would come save them. I don’t think I have ever created this scenario where I get kidnapped and a superhero comes to save me, and trust me, I have created so many scenarios about fictional characters. But, hypothetically speaking, which fictional character would I choose if this happened? Definitely, it would be someone strong enough to fight the dangerous people, smart enough to figure out the best plan to rescue me and kind-hearted enough to want to rescue me.

There is a long list of fictional characters to choose from. The first one who came to my mind was John Wick. John Wick is this badass character who would go great lengths to achieve his goals, but I had a rethink about it. In all the John Wick movies I have seen, his goal was always about surviving, not rescuing. So John Wick might not be the best person. I finally settled on Clark Kent. Honestly, I think Clark Kent would be the best option. For me, he ticks almost all the boxes. If I had to choose someone to come to my rescue, my answer would be Clark Kent.

One of the reasons why Clark Kent would fit perfectly is because he is a good person. He definitely would not wave off rescuing a kidnapped person or finding a missing person. I have seen so many Superman movies, and one thing I can boldly say is that he finds the best way to rescue people. If I were to choose John Wick, things would probably be messy. Let’s assume that the kidnappers lock me up in a room. John Wick would probably storm the room and make me witness the whole thing, which could leave me traumatized. However, I’m pretty sure Superman wouldn’t want that to happen. He would do everything in a flash that I wouldn’t even notice.

Superman has the perfect superpowers that would make the job clean and perfect. First off, let’s talk about his X-Ray Vision, which lets him see through solid objects like walls, doors and even buildings, which means there will be no hiding room for the dangerous guys. Superman also has super-hearing, which means any small sound from the bad guys would put them in trouble. More importantly, his speed would come in handy. This guy is super fast. He would take out the bad guys before they could even move and inch.

So, yes for me, Superman is a great option. Again, we hope not to find ourselves in such a situation, but hypothetically, Superman would be my rescue man.

I remember loving superman movies when I was small. But not now, I'm no longer a fan.

Honestly, there’s a lot of superheroes I somehow don’t know who is Superman, Spider-Man and more.

But hey, if he’s a good person and can save you, why not.😅

Yeah, I agree with you. Superman is the fictional character for this assignment. But first this topic is scaring because I don't ever want to be kidnapped or even go missing.
