Rewind Or Grow?

Many times, I have thought about the idea of a time machine being real. Not only have I thought about the idea, I have wished it were real. Many of us have made mistakes in the past. As humans, mistakes are an inherent part of our nature. No matter how careful we try to be, sometimes something will still go wrong. The sad part about mistakes is that they can go a long way in damaging things. Things that you have nurtured for months or even years. A single mistake can make a person lose their job. A single mistake can ruin friendships and relationships. One thing I have realized about mistakes is that whenever we make some, people around us don’t care about the memories we’ve shared, they only focus on the consequences of the mistake, and in that moment, we will wish there was a redo button. We’ll wish we could go back in time to correct our mistakes. Unfortunately, this often ends up just being a wish as time travel is not possible yet.
Some time last year, I was living the best year of my life, or so I thought. Maybe it wasn't the best but things were going so well that I thought nothing could go wrong. However, I made a mistake and the whole thing tumbled. In a quest to help out, I ended up hurting someone close to me. That day, I wished I could go back in time and clean up my mistakes. I wished I could magically erase what had happened, but what had happened had happened already and I couldn't do anything about it. But what if time machine were real? The rate at which technology is improving who knows if a scientist will invent a time machine in the next decades? However, the question is: would time travel be a good idea? Will it help humanity grow?
This brings me to today’s Hive Learners’ prompt: TIME AND AGAIN. Imagine a group of scientists developed a time machine and people could travel back to whatever time to redo or undo certain acts. Would this be a good thing? The idea of traveling back in time to fix our mistakes sounds good. In fact, it sounds almost too good. There are lots of mistakes I have made in the past that I wish I hadn't, but would it be a good idea to go back in time and erase them?
While time travel seems perfect on the surface level, I believe things are better the way they are. Firstly, time is too delicate to be messed with. For as long as history can tell, I don’t think there has ever been a time when humans traveled back in time. However, we know the concept of time travel because many of us have seen it in movies. From the many time travel-related movies I have seen, they depict time travel as something delicate. A simple mistake in the past can alter something and change the present. I have seen episodes of time travel in Henry Danger and Family Guy and from these series, time travel, while it sounds perfect, isn't without flaws. What if the machines broke down? What if you get stuck in the past and are unable to leave forever?
More importantly, mistakes are part of us. As much as I hate making mistakes, I can't deny the fact that they help us grow. We learn from our mistakes. For example, when I joined Hive, I made so many mistakes. My first-ever mistake was posting in a community without reading their rules. It was the Ink Well community. As many of us know, they do not accept horror or violence-related stories. But I didn't know at the time because I didn't read their rules. It wasn't until a moderator told me that I knew. That day, I wished I could go back in time to fix that mistake. But you know what? I learnt from it. Thanks to that mistake, I learnt to always read the rules of a community before posting there.
In conclusion, if mistakes were to be fixed so easily, humans would not be able to grow. So, yes, things are better the way they are. Try everything. Make mistakes. Learn from them.

You’ve spoken really well, Fave.
While reading you kept mentioning one thing that I think is enough reason to let us know that time travel won’t be best for humanity and that is the fact that we are humans are we are bound to make mistakes. Those who will or might work on these time travel machines are still liable to making mistakes too so it’s not wise to even want to rely on them.
The fact that as humans we make mistakes is not for us to run away from it. It is for us to learn and become better and even help others avoid making similar mistakes as much as possible.
Thanks for sharing. 🌹

Yes, Hopey. Humans are bound to make mistakes. Some grave, others little. And you are right, we can't rely on the scientists. They are also humans.
Let’s keep learning from our mistakes.
Thanks for stopping by.❤️
That’s right, Favey.
It’s my pleasure stopping by. 🥰🌹
Hmmm! You are right. People only focus on our mistakes and forget about the great impact we have made and that is why you see a lot of people give up because of what people say.
We grow everyday even through our mistakes.
As long as we learn from our mistakes, we can always avoid repeating the same ones.
Thanks for stopping by, ma.
That's right.
