Review: Saturday Hive Chess S1R8

Today, the chess brothers came together to play our usual Saturday Hive Chess. Every Saturday, more than 20 players come together to participate in a fun tournament hosted by @sam.chess, and today was no different. Beyond the rewards that top players receive; we also get to learn from other players. Today's tournament didn't go so well. I lost more games than I won. I managed to finish with 19 points. I started the games well, playing a draw with Rosmarly in my first game and winning my second game. However, the subsequent games didn't go too well because I got paired with tough (stronger) players. As usual, I'll review some of my games and those of others in this tournament.

JUSTFAVOUR VS @Rosmarly

My first game was against Rosmarly. Rosemarly is one of the strong players in the blockchain chess team. We have played a total of 24 games with 15 wins to her, 8 to me and 1 draw. One thing I have realized about Rosmarly is that you have to be extremely careful when playing with them. Although this game ended in a draw, I find it quite interesting. I think Rosmarky played better, but the endgame was quite tight. She had a black bishop while I had a white one and a few pawns. Luckily, my pawns were on white spots so my bishop was able to protect them. In the end, the game ended in a draw.

@Rosmarly Vs Odnoobraz_bcm

Our best player didn't achieve a 100% win rate because Rosmarly managed to stop him. Rosmarly played exceedingly well in this game and forced Odnoob to resign. The game was going well until Rosmarly placed their bishop in a tight position. Odnoob captured their bishop and was a piece up. But at that moment, something interesting happened; Rosmarly sneakily started moving two pawns and soon enough, promoting to a queen was unstoppable. So this forced out number one to resign.

@Iamchessguy01 Vs Themadman4rmdasouth

At the beginning of the game, iamchessguy lost a pawn. Themadmanfromsouth dominated the game until… he blundered his queen. One of the most terrible things that can happen is to blunder your queen. Chessguy took control of the game from there.
