My Most Anticipated Event Of The Year: Going To A Mountain With My Friend

I hate to admit it, but I’m an introvert. I’m like a shy little hermit crab always cowering in its shell. You see, it’s kind of complicated. I wouldn’t call myself a complete introvert and this is because I exhibit characteristics of an extrovert. I do not like going to parties. In my opinion, parties and clubbing are highly overrated. At the same time, I love chilling with my friends, in private places. Also, I do not find it hard to make friends, and when in public places, I flow well with strangers. So I think the best way to put this is that I’m an extrovert, but selectively introverted.

When I look back on my life, I've never really taken a proper excursion. I went to the zoo once, but that was a solo trip and not really the same thing as going with your friends. I've never been on a trip with friends, and I've never been to any of the amazing tourist spots in Nigeria. I’m a big movie lover. I find movies captivating. I’m a fan of almost all genres of movies. Surprisingly, I’ve never been to a cinema. Towards the end of 2023, I decided to change the social aspect of my life. I thought about it and I realized that my social life is going down the drain. When my friends talk about their trips and adventures, I’m like a confused deer staring at a headlight. I can’t relate to their stories and always feel left out.

Erinjesha Waterfall is a popular and beautiful excursion center. Lots of my friends have visited this waterfall, and they talk about it from time to time. Whenever they talk about their experiences, I watch their mouths as they tell their tales of adventures. The funny and weird part is that Erinjesha waterfall is located in my city. Still, I’ve never bothered to visit the place. Ikogosi waterfall is also close to my school. I’m in my third year in the university and I’ve still never visited the place. My social life is extremely dying.

This year, I’ve decided to change for the better. I’ve decided to go out often and show my face to the outside world. I mean, how bad could it be? Last semester, I made plans with a friend to visit a beautiful mountain close to my school. I canceled at the last minute because “I just didn’t feel like going.” Things are going to be different this year. I started off on the right note this year. 2024 is going to be great. I can feel it.

I’ve decided that this year I’ll start making new memories and exploring new places. It’s not going to be easy, but I’m determined to make this happen. Crawling out of one’s shell isn’t an easy thing to do. This year, one of the events I’m looking forward to is to visit a beautiful mountain with my friend. I’ve seen images of how beautiful the place is and I can’t wait to visit there. I can’t wait to crawl out of my shell- my comfort zone. I think going with a friend would make the experience more special. It would be nice to go with a friend so we can share the experience together.

Well, going out with my friend to this beautiful place is very important to me because it’s a step out of my comfort zone. Also, this friend is very special and it’d be nice to make amazing memories with her. We both made plans to go on an excursion last semester, but I canceled out at the last minute. She was pained because we had already planned it out. This trip with my friend to the mountain is a perfect way to kick things off.
