Love Beyond Borders

IMG_3993.jpeg

Over the years, a lot of people have tried to define love. I like to think of them as love scholars. Love is a complicated topic that has baffled the greatest of minds for centuries. Literature scholars such as Shakespeare have tried to give a solid definition of love from his own perspective. One might say the love that exists between Othello and Desdemona is a negatively inclined type of love. Another of his works that explores the complexities of love is Romeo and Juliet- a tragic story of two lovers that yields negative consequences. With this it is evident that love is a topic of great significance that has been in existence for centuries. Love is a thread that has made its way into our daily interactions, shaping our relationships with those around us.

In life, love is a crucial subject that plays a significant role in how we relate with others. Whether it is a romantic, soft and tender bond between lovers, platonic relationship between friends, or simple act of kindness towards strangers. In today’s world, the romantic love that exists between partners takes center stage. We are in the 21st century and one topic that always stirs the internet is the love that exists between partners. Social media platforms are always buzzing and stirring with different love stories. It has gotten to the point that the internet has become a powerful force in shaping our perceptions of love and relationships.

The internet has crafted, painted, and pictured idealized relationships and flawless love stories, creating a new standard of what “true love” should look like. The internet provides the rules that guide love- the do’s and don'ts. By doing so, the Internet presents a negative definition of what true love and healthy relationships entails.

As much as I always try to avoid discussions about the love that exists between partners, deep down, I know it is a beautiful thing. Although overhyped, the type of love that exists between lovers is rare to find. I'm of the perspective thawen you are with your true love, everything falls into place. Call me silly or stupid, but when people ask me why I've not opened my heart to love, I say “I'm waiting for the right person- my Cinderella.” The usual response to this is that they start laughing, filling the room and almost blocking my ears with loud and annoying laughter. I could go on and on to talk about this type of love, but as I mentioned earlier I always try to avoid discussions about it. Let's switch gears and talk about the amazing love between siblings instead.

I grew up in a home with 6 people - my parents and 3 siblings. The age difference between us is so wide that you'd think our relationship would be strict. But growing up, my siblings were my playmates. My older sister is 8 years older than me, but we played together like we were the same age. I remember how we always had fun playing together, just like kids. Stealing chicken from mom’s pot was our favorite mission. We saw it as a fun adventure, like we were spies. The good old days.

My mom had a big farm where she raised chickens, goats, and other livestock. Every Sunday, we would slaughter a chicken. My older sister is a huge chicken lover. Want to get her to do something? Just give her some chicken. So, every Sunday when my mom finished preparing the chicken, she would put it in a big pot. My sister and I would sneak into the kitchen and steal some. I've never really liked chicken, so we would steal it for her, and in return, she would let me play games on her phone.

Sibling love is a special, enduring bond. When the world seems against you, when friends and partners fall away, your siblings remain steadfast and true. I remember the day my sister and brother protected me. We all attended the same school. While I was in elementary school, they were in high school. I remember that day like it happened yesterday. I was wrongly accused of slapping my classmates. All of a sudden, his siblings came and slapped me. My siblings heard about what had happened, they came running to my class. The school almost tumbled that day.

My siblings are the only ones I can turn to without hesitation or judgment. When in need of something. I know they're always just a phone call or text message away. For example, whenever I see my school results, they are the first people I want to share it with.

Life has an interesting way of pulling its strings. Life, time and distance have pulled my siblings and I apart, each of us on separate paths in different corners of the world. However, I know in my heart, the bond we share is strong. When life becomes too much to bear, all I need to do is dial a number, cry all I want, and the sound of their voices will comfort me. Though we may be far apart, the love and support we share will forever remain true.

Today is the first day of a new month! HPUD! I'm really proud of my growth in the last month. Although I had to make a lot of withdrawals to settle my expenses, it is nice to see that I am making tremendous growth on Hive. Let's see how this month goes.

Well I believe in love but I don't believe in the cinderella type of love. Before you come for me let me explain what I mean by this

For me I don't believe in love at first sight and cinderella story is a love at first sight type of love. I can't see someone for once and be instantly attracted. I believe in you having your spec and will only love them after getting to see what you want in that woman.

For now am not a preacher of love, yes I know i talk about having a babe and all that lol but even if babe toast me now now I'll say no 🤣

I believe in sibling love and my elder siblings have made me seen that sibling love is beautiful.

Haha. Hey there, Rubi. Why is it so weird to see you drop by this kind of post? It is hard to picture you in love.

Okay. Okay. I’m not gonna come for your head. I believe we all different opinions and preferences, and that’s fine. It is okay that you don’t believe in love at first sight.

I believe in sibling love and my elder siblings have made me seen that sibling love is beautiful.

I’m glad you agree with me on this.

Thanks for stopping by, Rubi.

I’m just trying to find out whose hands are those? Ey this my bro😂

Anyway, the part that caught my attention is stealing chicken
I mean that’s my specialty so😂😂
But wait, your elder sister is 8 years older? Wow and you all are like that?
That’s really nice

your point of view beautifully describes the complexities of love, from the romanticized parts all over the internet to the purest bond between siblings share with each other. It's so heartwarming to get to know about your nostalgic memories with your siblings and the unwavering support they have offered for you.

Love is something I would want everyone to experience once in a lifetime.
While growing up my brother and I were close but we use to fight lot, once we started living apart things have changed and we've grown closer.
Siblings love is the purest form of love.

How is your relationship with your siblings now? Do you still check up on them?

Now he annoys me 24*7, he lives with me.
And I've acknowledged that he's more important to me then any relationship I've over the years.
