Books Take Us Back In Time
Every Saturday, the Hive Book Club community hosts a hangout. I love books. I love them with every fiber of my being. In today’s world, not so many people enjoy reading books, so it is always rare to meet people who share your enthusiasm. Now that I think about it, two out of the three major things that constitute my being; that is a huge part of me, are considered “boring” by others. I love books and chess and I have heard so many people tag these two things as boring and I think I kind of find that interesting. Back to the Saturday hangout, it is a space for me to connect with people who love the one thing I love; books and that is why I try as much as I can not miss the hangout. Yesterday’s hangout went really well. We had new people like @justola1 join us for the first time. I actually didn't know he read books until yesterday.
In yesterday’s hangout, I shared with the book lovers who were present how I explored my E-library and found something really interesting; a book that brought back memories. I have been using the “Books” all on my iPhone to read for about 3 to 4 years now. The app comes with the iPhone and I have come to fall in love with the interface. I love the app because it makes reading less draining. You won't even realize when you have completed a chapter. So recently, I explored this app. It was just like going through your mini library and cleaning the dust off old books. I explored the app to track my reading journey for the past 3 years and one book just brought back good memories.

One of the reasons why this book brought back memories was thatI read it with a person who was once special to me. Life has an interesting way of pulling its strings. In the midst of classmates who didn't care about books, I found someone who was different. We would read books and talk about them in school or our meeting places. This particular book was special to us because we read it together. Sadly, life did its thing and we are no longer together. When I saw that I still had the book in my E-library my reaction was golden. It was priceless.
More importantly, Oyinkan Braithwaite did full justice to this book. I find it really interesting when authors make their debut books shine. I mean, my reaction is always “This is your first time publishing a book and you made it this good? Kudos!” My Sister the Serial Killer is Oyinkan Braithwaite's debut novel and she did justice to it. I always tell my fellow book lovers that if you want to make your friends who are non-book lovers start reading books; if you want to make an “outsider” fall in love with books, just give them this book. I would either give them My Sister the Serial Killer or The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wife or Tomorrow Died yesterday. These books are on fire!
I won't be doing a review of any of these books in this post. I think I have already done a review of My Sister the Serial Killer on Hive. I just thought to share a bit about this book and how it brought back memories and also tell you guys about the Hive Book Club hangout. We don’t have many rules. Join us every Saturday and share your reads with us. Anything about books!

Good Post, I also have an E-library collection
I'm glad you are done now. Wen NYSC?
Unfortunately, I missed the book chat yesterday. I also use the books app on my phone and so far, the experience has been nice.
Among the three books you listed that are good for welcoming non-book lovers into the book world, I’ve only read one. Maybe one of these days, I’ll pick up the others.
Sorry about this, Oluchi. I didn’t bother to reach out because I felt you got busy.
Good luck with the other books.😊😊
Everything is in the past
The last is in the past.
When it comes to reading books or engaging in other activities, the first time matters so much if the person will like it or not. That’s why it’s always best to recommend the best at every first trial.

@hopestylist here!
Yes, I agree. If you want to get something to do a particular thing, let's say anime, get them to watch the best. That's valid.
I’m glad you think so.
