Bliss In Order

“Cleanliness is next to godliness.” I grew up with this mentality. At home, my parents always made sure the kids did their chores well. There were more than enough hands to go around. Back then, our house was always buzzing with kids. Sometimes, I had nothing to do because my younger cousins would have done all the chores. One thing is for sure, my parents, particularly my mom, liked it when the environment was clean. I attended a catholic high school and one thing about catholic schools is that they are known for their many rules. Our principal was a strict man. He took cleanliness to a whole new level. He often stormed into classes unannounced and whenever he saw the most little dirt on the floor, he would punish the whole class. If you passed by a piece of refuse and you didn't pick it up, regardless of whether you dropped it there or not, you would get punished. This was the bedrock that built and solidified my foundation.

At first, we all thought that our principal was too strict. Well, maybe he was too strict. However, his lessons will remain with me. Although his lessons might have been flawed, he has instilled in me the behavior of learning how to live in a healthy environment. For today’ Hive Learner’s prompt, the community asks us what is our ideal of a healthy environment? What components can be in place before it can be deemed healthy? First off, it is important to know that the definition of “healthy environment” can be specific to individuals. Meaning that your definition of a healthy environment might be different from what someone else has. For some it might be a clean and spotless environment, for some it might be a peaceful environment.

WHAT IS MY IDEAL ENVIRONMENT

For me, it's both. My ideal healthy environment is a clean, well-arranged place, free from dirt or any other clutter. As I mentioned earlier, this habit has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. I love it when my environment is clean—when the flowers are well-trimmed and the bushes are neatly maintained. For me, an ideal environment consists of a neatly arranged bed, a clear and well-swept floor, and a clean kitchen. Currently, I live alone in a small apartment, and I make sure everything is well-placed. Sometimes, whenever I'm stressed from school activities, I let things unfold, and then whenever I'm free, I do the needful by putting things back in their usual order—well-arranged

YOUR ENVIRONMENT HEALTHY?

Currently, to some extent, my environment is healthy. I stay In a very big hostel. There are 65 rooms in my hostel with more than 120 students. When you have so many people from different places coming together to live, you are bound to meet different people. Sometimes, the compound would get really messy, other times, we joined hands to clean and make everything tidy. But currently, I wouldn't say the environment is healthy.

Also, there are students who smoke like there is no tomorrow. I don’t think it is fitting to call an environment where students smoke every day healthy. Well, these are the things I'm battling now. I'll done with school
In a few days time. I hope I can go to a better and healthier environment.

An environment in which one can develop and grow is what I call a clean environment, usually the spaces where many people live do not represent that, and more today with a world so contaminated by technology. I hope you continue enjoying a moderately clean and pleasant atmosphere for your studies, because that is a very important factor to concentrate and move on.

I honestly can't cope by staying with people that smoke. Personally, i feel i am morr prone to any health problems than those who are smoking. So i would just rather stay away. But then i am glad you will soon be free from such environment.

Sadly, there’s nothing we can do. Just look at them, pass and mind your business.

I love clean places because they make me feel at home. Dirty places give me the ick and I’m always somehow itchy to move away from there because why not?😂
