RE: Hello, July Going Back To Intentional Living

OMG @macchiata...so this doesn't just happen in my family:

"Being around the family, I was constantly exposed to a lifestyle I no longer subscribe to. I live a different life than many of my family and it is something I am truly proud of until well, there was minor guilt tripping, comparison, gaslighting that keeps happening whenever I talk to them."

Add proposed loans that turn into gifts... (and how dare she ask for repayment when she knows my situation).

I understand completely when you want to live your life different from your family or friends. I committed to a minimalist lifestyle, and it has taken me years to shed the hoarding of my family's style with open concepts and living together in small spaces. "Just come on in. Throw your stuff anywhere if fine, and make yourself at home."

Thanks, but no thanks. It may sound harsh, but my personality and "self" has evolved.

Thanks for sharing.

Hahaha it can be hard with the family even if it's just my mother, I still struggle with many things with her. I've been away for sometime and developed my own personality, so it's taking her a bit of time to accept that I am now a different person.

Loving from afar is so easy, I must admit. On that note, my oldest living sister needs treatment. For some reason her foot began to swell last night. She's Type 2 Diabetic like me. I'm hoping it's nothing serious. You do have to take extra precaution when dealing with your feet.

Take care.
