"Happy 6th Year Anniversary Splinterlands | Swamp Spitter Fanart"

Hi Splinterlands and aliens of hive, I have been doing fanarts of Splinterlands for almost two years joining the weekly art contest was and still is always fun since I get to see a lot of different artworks with different art styles, time flies by so fast since there are a lot of cards or characters that Splinterlands introduced and for almost two years of joining the weekly art contest I have only sketched just a small fraction of it.

Okay! Enough of that intro let's head into the art process...

ART PROCESS...

Reference - Swamp Spitter

Materials Used: clip studio paint software and drawing tablet which is XP PEN Artist 12

The very first thing I always do is to do some rough sketch in blue color, while for some this is not that important but for me it is the core of my artwork since in this particular stage the brainstorming and ideas flows a lot.

  • For this particular contest I chose Swamp Spitter and designed the staff he is holding and I decided to draw it in the form of 6 (the tip of the staff) and also put the logo or icon of splinterlands there.

  • The next step I always do is to lower the opacity of the blue brush or the first layer which is usually a rough draft then add another layer and choose a black color brush. Then I Increase the stabilization of the brush that I am using so that I could draw smoother or more fluid lines, I specifically draw thicker lines on the outside details.

  • Then from here on out is the coloring process.

  • Am still practicing and experimenting at this stage of the process, you need a lot of patience when it comes to rendering but I don't have that so I always settle what makes me happy enough or what is just enough to satisfy my eyes.
