SAMGYUPSAL | ROMANTIC BABOY - WELL SEASONED MEAT
My friend and I had some business to attend to in Malaybalay, and it took us almost until lunchtime to arrive. We decided to have lunch first before heading to our main destination. My brother, who was driving us, suggested that we try the Samgyupsal Romantic Baboy.
The setting was nice. I don't know much about the side dishes because the last time I had samgyupsal, we picked all the side dishes ourselves in a counter it was a bit of a self service kind of way.
The waiter did ask us about our preferences, but we just said to serve anything on the menu. We were told that they only offer ogyeopsal instead of samgyupsal, and they didn't have lettuce. I was expecting a lighter meal this time, rather than rice, and I wanted to enjoy the tradition of wrapping the meat in lettuce like we typically do with samgyupsal. but you know, we were still fine with the any available meal.
It was probably the first time I concentrated more on cooking than on eating. Usually, my friend is the one who cooks the meat for us, but since we had a baby with us, I took on the responsibility, and I really enjoyed it. Meanwhile, both my brother and friend focused on keeping the baby from crying.
I have to say the meat was very delicious. Aside from the well-seasoned meat, what I loved most were the onion leaves served with a wonderful sauce. I finished most of the side dishes because there was a rule about not leaving leftovers. My brother was mainly focused on the meat, while my friend only ate a little because the baby was crying and wanting more of the Coke we had. I ended up being the one who ate most of the food 😆
The place is great, and the food is delicious. I would definitely like to come back, not in a hurry, but to truly savor each dish. It is a bit expensive, but it's worth it if you take the time to enjoy it. My brother was the one paying, so it didn't hurt much when it came to spending 😆free food means delicious food! I have to commend the seasoned meat they serve ~ it's very delicious.
