Sketch Fan art of Kanata Saiyonji from UFO Baby

I'm not sure if fan art is supposed to closely copy the reference or create a different version, so I chose to draw a version that isn't very similar to the original. Also, the character is somewhat serious in UFO Baby, but in my drawing, I made him appear more gentle, like a submissive character (uke). Haha!

I watched some anime and felt inspired to draw. It's been a while since I've tried drawing because I've mostly been painting. I had the time to give it a go again. I realized that I couldn't draw anime the way I used to, and it was frustrating. Despite the frustration, I kept trying to regain my skills. I started working on getting used to my pen tablet on Clip Studio Paint (CSP). It was a bit challenging at first since I was used to drawing on my iPad and procreate as my software, but I got the hang of my pen tab eventually.

I chose to draw Kanata Saiyonji because I recently came across UFO Baby, Kodocha, and Marmalade Boy on my fyp on TikTok. I remembered how much I enjoyed these romance anime. I only caught glimpses of UFO Baby when it aired on TV because I had classes during that time. I could only watch it when I was absent, or sometimes on Animax at my aunt's place. From what I recall, the story revolves around taking care of a UFO baby given to them. Now that I have access to some anime sites, I should probably watch it to fully understand the story.

It took me about two days to find a good pen to use on Clip Studio Paint. I got really frustrated and even deleted a section of brushes at one point. I downloaded a bunch of free brushes from CSP assets, but in the end, I just ended up selecting one brush and making a few adjustments to its settings. Now I can happily sketch because the pen matches my sketching style. I'm still learning how to color in CSP, though.

Do you ever feel like you've watched a ton of tutorials, but your brain just isn't absorbing the information? That happens to me a lot. I think it's going to take me a while to really understand how everything works.

Anyways, have you ever watched UFO Baby? I'm pretty sure 90s anime lovers know this...

I've been doing the anime realm challenge this month, and it's brought back memories of all the anime series I never finished. This is my last post in completing the quest, even though it's kind of late. I'll try to be the first next month! I love challenges, especially when they're about something I'm passionate about.

Se ve muy parecido el software al que usan en sketch de pixiv.net

I am also thinking of making NFTs and might join fan arts on HoloZing if I have the time. Hehehe. Also, I think a lot of manga artists are on pixiv.net, and most Japanese people use Clip Studio Paint, as their software for creating manga 😊

Do you ever feel like you've watched a ton of tutorials, but your brain just isn't absorbing the information? That happens to me a lot.

I think you need to be open to what you're watching. You're concentrating too much, you're subconsciously missing the information or what you want from the video. Relax,take deep breaths in, meditate or something and try and open your mind to it. You'll get it, you'll see. A faster way to doing this is being in actual trouble and you need it to survive or something,haha. Helped me when I was watching a yt tutorial video on one of my maths exams. Was watching it for two weeks and couldn't get anything. Was desperate and concentrated with all my might, a day before the exam. Guess who finally understood what she was doing it hours before the exam?🤓
