Bienvenidos mi queridos reyes viajeros del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, como ya sabrán he estado reseñando la trilogía original de Lord of the Rings, es grato para mí informarles que hoy cerraremos este ciclo debido a que le toca el turno a "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" un filme que promete dar un uso excepcional a todo lo que mostraron las previas entregas. Sin más que agregar, prepárense para la batalla final pues estamos por comenzar.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King was released in 2003, based on the book of the same name published in 1955 by J. R. R. Tolkien, the film was directed by Peter Jackson and produced by Wingnut Films, has a duration of 4 hours and 23 minutes. It is a fantasy and adventure film, the story is set just after the defeat of Saruman, despite the defeat of his ally Sauron still continues to attack men, in this case against Gondor for being one of the great empires that remain, it is weak because it does not have a king to claim the throne, however, Gandalf and his comrades will try to do everything possible to protect one of the few strongholds of men, on the other hand, Frodo and Sam continue on their journey to Mordor with the intention of destroying the ring, none of the tasks will be easy and the lives of all those involved will be in great danger at all times.

Tolkien, la cinta fue dirigida por Peter Jackson y producida por Wingnut Films, cuenta con una duración de 4 horas y 23 minutos. Es un filme de fantasía y aventuras, la historia se ubica justo después de la derrota de Saruman, pese a la derrota de su aliado Sauron aún sigue arremetiendo contra los hombres, en este caso contra Gondor por ser uno de los grandes imperios que quedan, este se encuentra débil debido a que no tiene un rey que reclame el trono, no obstante, Gandalf y sus camaradas trataran de hacer todo lo posible con tal de proteger uno de los pocos reductos de los hombres, por otro lado, Frodo y Sam siguen en su travesía hacia Mordor con la intención de destruir el anillo, ninguna de las tareas serán sencillas y las vidas de todos los implicados correrá un gran peligro en todo momento.

La banda sonora sigue siendo un apartado no menos que excepcional, es sencillamente maravilloso lo mucho que esto puede aportarle a los diversos momentos del filme, adaptándose de forma asertiva a las necesidades de la cinta, dicho sea de paso, qué exquisitas resultan las piezas musicales épicas, ponen los pelos de punta.
The construction of the world stands out in this installment for focusing on some vestiges of the first battle that was fought against Sauron, on the other hand, the relations between kingdoms take a leading role because key moments of the film are defined by them. Finally there is the exploration of Mordor, all its scenery fits perfectly with what should be the land of an enemy obsessed with control, it is a desolate and depressing wasteland where only structures designed for conflict rise, this is a success with all the law.
La construcción de mundo destaca en esta entrega por enfocar algunos vestigios de la primera batalla que se libró contra Sauron, por otro lado, las relaciones entre reinos toman un papel protagónico debido a que momentos claves del filme son definidos por ellas. Por último está la exploración de Mordor, toda su escenografía encaja de forma perfecta con lo que debería ser la tierra de un enemigo obsesionado con el control, es un páramo desolador y deprimente en dónde solo se alzan estructuras pensadas para el conflicto, esto es un acierto con todas las de ley.
The plot is completely satisfactory, it seeks to give closure to all those things that were exposed in the prequels, this gives it an air of continuity and magnificent culmination. Narratively it is quite loaded, the film is located at the climax of the battle, therefore, a lot of focus is given to strategies, preparation for combat and even the fear of having to face death. In addition to all of the above, it is necessary to mention the confrontations as such, there are many excellent situations and they all share the fact of having an incredible facility to move the viewer with the dynamism of the fights and the latent possibility that a comrade will fall in battle, in turn, the fact of developing in parallel the problems of Frodo and his group with the confrontations gives a complex touch to the film, all this accumulation of successes makes it very digestible and enjoyable despite its considered length.
La trama es completamente satisfactoria, la misma busca darle cierre a todas aquellas cosas que se expusieron en las precuelas, esto le da un aire de continuidad y culminación magnífico. Narrativamente está bastante cargada, la cinta se ubica en el climax de la batalla, por consiguiente, se le da mucho foco a las estrategias, preparación para los combates e incluso al miedo por tener que encarar a la muerte. Sumado a todo lo anterior, es menester hacer mención de los enfrentamientos como tal, existen muchas situaciones excelentes y todas comparten el hecho de tener una facilidad increíble para emocionar al espectador con el dinamismo de las peleas y la posibilidad latente de que algún camarada caiga en batalla, a su vez, el hecho de ir desarrollando paralelamente los problemas de Frodo y su grupo con los enfrentamientos le da un toque complejo a la cinta, todo este cúmulo de aciertos hace que sea muy digerible y disfrutable pese a su considerada duración.
Several characters have impeccable work, among the remarkable ones are Frodo, Sam and Gollum who not only face the journey of leading to destroy the ring but also to face the madness and pressure that the ring itself entails, Aragorn also has a good closure in his story by accepting his fate and guiding men, and, surprisingly, Pippin has a very striking characterization because he seeks to do his part to face the evil that rises against Middle-earth, his brother does not stand out so much but he is also curious. Broadly speaking, the aforementioned characters are the ones that have a more interesting development, it is sad that characters like Legolas, Gandalf or Gimli do not have more exploration, it is understandable that not all of them can have an interesting evolution but it is still a shame. The villain is still meh, he's bad, cruel and scary but other than that he doesn't have much else to offer.
Varios personajes tienen un trabajo impecable, dentro de los destacables están Frodo, Sam y Gollum los cuales no solo se enfrentan a la travesía de llevar a destruir el anillo sino también a hacerle frente a la locura y presión que el anillo mismo conlleva, Aragorn también tiene un buen cierre en su historia al aceptar su destino y guiar a los hombres, y, sorprendentemente, Pippin tiene una caracterización muy llamativa debido a que busca hacer su parte para hacerle frente a la maldad que se alza en contra de la tierra media, su hermano no destaca tanto pero también es curioso. A grandes rasgos, los personajes antes mencionados son los que tienen un desarrollo más interesante, es triste que personajes como Legolas, Gandalf o Gimli no tenga más exploración, es entendible que no todos puedan tener una evolución interesante pero igual es una pena. El villano sigue siendo meh, es malo, cruel y da miedo pero fuera de ello no tiene mucho más para ofrecer.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is an excellent way to close the trilogy, not only for giving a good closure to the different elements he introduced but also for leaving a mark of what happened, several of the surviving characters are left with important mental scars from everything they experienced or directly their lives changed greatly after the conclusion of the battle, Not only does this feel satisfying, but it gives the event in question the importance it deserves. It is for all of the above that it deserves 5 stars out of 7, knowing how to give a good conclusion to all the things that it was exposing throughout the trilogy is something very meritorious, in addition, the fact that the films go from less to more only makes it a more than obligatory appointment for anyone who enjoys medieval fantasy.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King es una forma excelente de cerrar la trilogía, no solo por darle un buen cierre a los diferentes elementos que introdujo sino también por dejar en general una marca de lo que paso, varios de los personajes sobrevivientes quedan con cicatrices mentales importantes por todo lo vivido o directamente sus vidas cambiaron de sobremanera tras la conclusión de la batalla, esto no solo se siente satisfactorio sino que le da al evento en cuestión la importancia que merece. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 5 estrellas de 7, el saber darle una buena conclusión a todas las cosas que fue exponiendo a lo largo de la trilogía es algo muy meritorio, además, el hecho de que las películas vayan de menos a más solo hace que sea una cita más que obligatoria para todo aquel que disfrute de la fantasía medieval.
