[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] [•REC]
Welcome my dear traveling internet press and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, zombie-themed films is a pleasure that I like to give myself from time to time, in this case we are brought together by a film entitled "[•REC]" which has the particularity of coming from Spain so I had an even greater curiosity to see what it had to offer. Without further ado, get ready to record everything you see because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mi querida prensa viajera del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, los filmes con temática de zombies es un gusto que me gusta darme cada cierto tiempo, en este caso nos reúne una cinta titulada “[•REC]” la cual tiene la particularidad de proceder de España por lo que tenía una curiosidad aún más grande por ver que tenía para ofrecer. Sin más que agregar, prepárense para grabar todo lo que vean pues estamos por comenzar.
[•REC] is a Spanish film released in 2007, directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, it was produced by Filmax, Castelao Productions, among others, it has a duration of 1 hour and 16 minutes. It is a thriller and zombie film, the story centers on a reporter from a local news channel who is doing a report on the activities of a fire station at night, however, in the middle of the night they receive a call from a residential complex about a lady who acts strangely, What they did not know is that it would be a call that would be plagued by blood and death.
[•REC] es una cinta española estrenada en 2007, dirigida por Jaume Balagueró y Paco Plaza, fue producida por Filmax, Castelao Productions, entre otros, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 16 minutos. Es un filme de suspenso y zombies, la historia se centra en una reportera de un canal de noticias local la cual se encuentra haciendo un reportaje sobre las actividades de una estación de bomberos de noche, sin embargo, en mitad de la noche reciben un llamado de un conjunto residencial sobre una señora que actúa de forma extraña, lo que estos no sabían es que sería un llamado que estaría plagado de sangre y muerte.

The soundtrack is mostly non -existent, on the other hand, the film chooses to have a number of environmental sounds that complement the terror factor, it is a section that houses all kinds of screams, sobs and all those sounds that can put the viewer on the seat of the seat.
La banda sonora es mayormente inexistente, en cambio, el filme opta por tener una cantidad de sonidos ambientales que completamentan al factor terror, es un apartado que alberga toda clase de alaridos, sollozos y todos aquellos sonidos que puedan poner al filo del asiento al espectador.
The construction of the world is well within what it goes, the scenography focuses only on exploring various places in a residential complex, it is an element that despite looking normal and mundane through the use of shadows and cuts of light make it an extremely chilling setting. The bulk of this section is in its camera angles, they are made from the perspective of one of the characters which makes everything feel more natural and amateur, in addition, it gives a much more disturbing touch to the different scenes that take place.
La construcción de mundo está bien dentro de lo que cabe, la escenografía se centra únicamente en explorar diversos lugares de un conjunto residencial, es un elemento que pese a lucir normal y mundano mediante el uso de sombras y cortes de luz lo convierten en una ambientación sumamente escalofriante. El grueso de este apartado está en sus ángulos de cámara, los mismos están hechos desde la perspectiva de uno de los personajes lo que hace que todo se sienta más natural y amateur, además, le da un toque mucho más perturbador a las diferentes escenas que tienen lugar.
The plot is extremely simple since it focuses on an outbreak of a zombie virus in an apartment complex, throughout the film you can see different scenes both grotesque and tense, which give a lot of life to the film. Narratively there is not much, the film knows how to generate tense situations through strange camera angles, all kinds of disturbing sounds and lots of blood, although it is a suspense and intrigue easy to produce since it depends a lot on the shock factor to work, being that despite being something simple it manages to get away with staying entertaining and striking at all times.
La trama es sumamente sencilla puesto que la misma se centra en un brote de un virus zombie en un complejo de apartamentos, a lo largo de la cinta se pueden ver diferentes escenas tanto grotescas como tensas, las cuales le dan mucha vida al filme. Narrativamente no hay mucho, la cinta sabe generar situaciones de tensión mediante ángulos de cámara extraños, toda clase de sonidos perturbadores y sangre a por montones, si bien es un suspenso e intriga sencillos de producir puesto que depende mucho del factor shock para funcionar, siendo que pese a ser algo simple consigue salirse con la suya para mantenerse entretenida y llamativa en todo momento.
All the characters are only cannon fodder, however, they manage to prolifically convey the anguish and fear that they suffer during all the events, they are not memorable but at least they serve as a target of torture and trauma.
Todos los personajes son únicamente carne de cañón, sin embargo, los mismos logran transmitir de forma prolífica la angustia y el miedo que estos padecen durante todos los acontecimientos, no son memorables pero por lo menos sirven como objetivo de tortura y traumas.
[•REC] is a film that causes discomfort due to the constant exposure of tense situations, frightening sounds and the blood party, it is not something that is very complex to say but at least it is interesting to see the various bizarre moments it contains. It is for all of the above that it deserves 4 stars out of 7, a must-see for those who like the zombie genre and suspense.
[•REC] es un filme que causa incomodidad por la constante exposición de situaciones de tensión, sonidos atemorizantes y la fiesta de sangre, no es algo que sea muy complejo que se diga pero por lo menos resulta interesante ver los diversos momentos bizarros que alberga. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 4 estrellas de 7, una cita obligatoria para aquellos que les guste el género de zombies y el suspenso.
