Sexual Purity

This morning, I want to share my thoughts with you all. I want to speak on the topic of sexual purity. I've been wanting to talk about this but I was waiting for the right time so I could say it the right way.

If you look around your environment, you will agree with me that a lot of sexual abuse is going on. Children below the age of fourteen years are engaging in a sexual act.

I don't know why I'm talking about this, but I know it's for someone. I live in a compound where children and young adults indulge in this. When I approach them, they will tell me that after all, they won't marry the person, nor will they harken to anyone's voice.

They told me to mind my business, that they have benefited a lot from it. Today, I was forced to ask one of them what exactly she benefits from offering herself as a sex slave to someone who hasn't paid her bride price.

She told me he does give her money to take care of herself. At first, I thought she was joking, but I later realized she wasn't.

I was curious to know how much they usually pay her, and she said two thousand five hundred for two days. I shouted Jesus!. She asked me why I was shouting, and I told her that she had made those guys see her less.

I told her she's worth more than that if she would accept to leave whatever she's doing, and find something better to do for herself.

She told me she can't learn a trade, that she's okay with what she is doing. I told her no, that having a handwork pays a thousand times than going to sleep with a guy who has no good intentions for her.

She told me her mom is in support of that. And she usually gives part of the money she made to her mom. I couldn't believe what I heard.

I asked her if her mom is working and she said yes. Then I asked her why her mom supports her, and she said, That's because she wants her to bring back a man who will marry her so she can rest.

What kind of teachings are you giving to your children as parents? Are you sure you're doing the right thing?

By the way, who told you that when your daughter goes about sleeping with every guy she sees, she would get married immediately?

This is one of the lies parents tell their children. Why do you lie to them? That is why we have so many ladies within the age of fifteen, getting pregnant.

Parents, it's high time you learn to influence your children positively. Tell them the right thing, and also guide them. They were sent to you for a purpose, and never misuse that opportunity.

Sexual purity is the best thing you can teach your children. Sex isn't something you should push your children into.

According to what I was taught, sex is for mature people. Not only mature people alone, but it is meant to be done by couples.

In conclusion, let's learn to abstain from sex as much as we can. There's time for everything. When this is done, it will reduce the high level of unwanted pregnancy in our society at large.
