A Call To Love As Believers
Good evening beautiful family, I welcome you all to my blog.
This evening, I want to deliberate on the topic A Call to Love as Believers.
I will be reading from the book of 1 John 4: 7-13. I will be using the King James Version.
- Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 . He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12.No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
- Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
I love these scriptures so much because they teach me so many things about the attributes of God.
Verses seven tries to encourage all believers to love one another. It went further to explain that God is love. And whosoever loves one another is born of God, and knows God.
If love were a bad thing, Jesus Christ himself wouldn't have commanded us to love one another. Love, as the name suggests, is what unites the body of Christ.
And any denomination where love is not found, things go wrong.
People love because of the favour they get from the person. Some love because it's their family friend. While others love so that they will not be seen as evil people in society.
But isn't it necessary to show who you truly are, and stop being who you're not?
Jesus loves us unconditionally, he didn't love us because he knew our parents, but he loved us because he saw the need to do that.
Jesus was concerned while on earth. He made us see the need to make people feel honored and respected while associating with other people.
He never faked his love like most of us do. He demonstrated a genuine love towards mankind, and till today, he's never tired of loving us.
Verse eight also said something important about love. It says that if we don't love, that means we don't know God.
This verse is trying to tell us that people who don't love God and the people around them do not know God. The funniest part is that most people claim to love God, but they don't know they're mocking themselves.
Never love because you've been forced to love, but love because God is love.
It's a clarion call from our saviour Jesus Christ to us all.
Jesus is urging us to love as believers. I don't mean love that comes with benefits. Don't love to get something in return. Let love come from your heart. Make people around you know how much you love and cherish their presence.
Thank you for your time.
I remain your favorite girl @joyben.
