Music is a sound pattern that is produced by people, it is the melodious sound that comes from peoples voice or the use of an object to make sound. Music is different based on the genres and differences in our cultures. Some of the popular genres of music are:- Hip hop, blues, country music, soul music, Dance music, reggae, opera, folk..

Music is a medicine on its own and it can bring a great relieve to the body and soul. Every positive message music l.e music created with the purest of intention has the power to heal the individual and the community at large. Good music has the power to make the soul clean, illuminate the heart, make the captive free, it has the power to strength the week and bring hope to the hopeless.

So this week we are writing on the popular type of music, which I will be talking on the hip hop as a popular style of music. Hip hop music as a lot of meaning to those people that love hip hop. To them I think hip hop is the way of telling stories. Although it's not only hip hop that tells story there are some other genres of music that tells story too such as folk music, even some classical music also is about story. Hip hop sometimes can be accompanied by wrapping that is (rhythmic poetry that are chanted).

The Origin of Hip hop

Hip hop music originated from the African American in the 1970s (New york City). And since it's origination hip hop music was built on four pillars namely:- Rapping, breakdancing, graffiti and Djing. Hip hop music originated from the coming together of latinx and Caribbean American youth. It is a synthesis of some existing cultural developments like graffiti. Hip hop was birthed from street parties and block parties. Hip hop later went further to the Us in1979 and by the time it reached the 80s, hip hop has been adopted by many artist and lots of ideas were added to the style including collaboration with electro music and drum kits.

Hip hop has served as a way or platform for people to reach the nations on bad governance, corruption and on the issue of racism. Hip hop to some is now more than just a music to some people but now a way of life.

Hip hop as a style of music also has some sub genres that originated from it such as mumble rap, latin hip hop, rap rock, gangster rap etc.
