Three Behaviours I Wish I Could Eradicate from Humanity//Week Engagement Week 275
Human beings are social creatures in nature and the way we behave has a strong effect on the kind of world we live in. Some behaviours exhibit by humans make life better and the world a better place to live, while others bring problems that affect individuals, communities, and even nations. If it were possible to remove certain behaviours completely, the world would be a better, safer and more peaceful place to live. In my opinion, among the many negative behaviours people show, three stand out to me as the most damaging and these are selfishness, greed, and discrimination. These behaviours, if eradicated, would make humanity more united and the world are better place.
Selfishness makes people think only about themselves without caring how their actions affect others. The act of selfishness can be seen in literally every aspect of human life beginning from families, workplaces, and even between nations. A selfish person does not want to share or support others. This behaviour creates division, because everyone is only thinking of what they will gain and not about the collective good. If selfishness were eradicated, people would live with more cooperation and understanding among themselves. Communities would be stronger, and genuine relationships would be built among people. Remove selfishness from the world, that would allow humanity to focus on collective good rather than personal gain.
The second behaviour that should be eradicated is greed. You might look at it as though greed is same as selfishness but greed is beyond selfishness, is more than just wanting, it is the endless desire to have more, even when it is not needed, even when someone already have enough. Greed is one of the biggest causes of corruption the world is facing today. Many leaders misuse public funds that is made for the masses because of greed. Companies destroy and pollute the environment because of their desire for greater profit. Individuals fall into greed by always wanting more money, power, or possessions even at the expense of others.
Greed has creates wide gaps between the rich and poor, leaving many people in extreme poverty while a few enjoy extreme wealth that even the generation yet unborn could not be able to use it finish. Thsts very unfair. Imagine If greed was eradicated, resources would be shared more fairly, leaders would focus on serving their citizens, public funds will be use wisely for the benefit of everyone, businesses would act more responsibly and even individuals would learn to be contented with what they have.
Discrimination is the third behaviour that should be eradicated. When people are treated unfairly because of their gender, religion or even social class. I always tell people that it is not the making or wish of someone to be born male or female, or born into a poor family or in a certain religion or even a race.
This behaviour has stops people from having equal opportunities to grow and contribute in some society. It has divides people and creates mistrust. It has denies many individuals the chances to fully express their abilities, because they are judged by who they are rather than what they can do. It has been one of the cause of conflicts in many societies. If discrimination is eradicated, people would live with more equality. Everyone would have the same opportunity to grow and societies would progress faster because no group would be excluded. People would be judged by their abilities and character, not by their background or social status and this would bring out the best in many individuals and allow nations to progress without unnecessary conflict.
So in my opinion, I think If these behaviours could be removed, humanity would move towards a future where cooperation, fairness, and equality will guide every actions. Though removing them would not solve all human problems, but it would open the way where people will live with more understanding and respect for each other.
Thank You and God bless you!!!!
You made a very good point sir. Every point you listed here really affects our day to day live in general.
Thank you for sharing @joshel
Thank you very much Sir @samarijr0 for reading.
I'm glad you find meaning from what I wrote.
Greed has created great differences and great injustices. For a moment, I imagined greed magically eradicated from human behavior. I saw a much more generous human being in general and a more harmonious world.
You’re so right ma'am.
Greed really has caused a lot of the problems we see today. Just imagine a world without greed, it will look different. People would probably be kinder, more willing to share, and life might feel a lot more balanced.
Even though greed may never fully go away, I think if more of us practiced the act of contentment and generosity, we’d definitely be a step closer to that kind of world..
