The Mobile Networks I Use and My Experience.
Hello everyone!! Welcome to my space, I'm @joshel and I'm excited to be a part of this great community. This is my first time of posting here and I'm glad to contribute to this week's prompt..
I have literally used all four major mobile networks that are available in country, the MTN, Glo, Airtel, and 9mobile. At the beginning, I was using all four networks at the same time. But over the years, I discovered that I mostly use only two network, the MTN and Airtel. I stopped using Glo and 9mobile. The two networks became my favourite networks. They are fast for browsing and good for making calls for me.
I run a cyber cafe in a student environment and due to the nature of the work I do, I need to use the internet every day. I cannot work without a good network. That is why I like Airtel the most. In the place where I live now, Airtel works very well. It is fast when I'm browse the internet. I can also make clear calls without problems. I even use a pocket WiFi with an Airtel SIM, and it works great.
Sometimes, when I travel to other places, the Airtel network is not good there. So I switch to MTN. MTN also works well in many places. That is why I keep using both MTN and Airtel. If one is not working, the other one might work.
There were times that I faced challenge with both network especially Airtel. I was at the middle of a zone class, receiving lectures, all of a sudden the network ceased. I made all efforts to reconnect back but it didn't work. I tried switching to MTN, but it was fluctuating. That was how I missed that class. The annoying part was few minutes after the class had needed, Airtel network came back.
There was one experience I will never forget. During my NYSC (National Youth Service), I was posted to a village. I was very surprised when I got there and discovered that there was no network at all. Not Airtel, not MTN, not even Glo, except 9mobile. It was very frustrating. I needed to use the internet for my work, but nothing was working. Even to make a call was a big challenge.
There's was one certain time I was so desperate to connect but no network, I had to climbed a nearby mountain just to get network. I would have to stay there for hours just to send a message or receive one. It was a really tough time for me that time, because I was disconnected from the world. I also tried using a pocket WiFi device, thinking it might help, but it was of no use, the WiFi did not work because there was no signal. That time was very difficult for me because I could not do my work or talk to people.
After that period, I became more careful about where I stay. When I finished serving and came back, I chose to remain in my current location (students environment) mainly because of how good the Airtel network is here. I can work with ease, browse the internet and upload or download files without stress. The peace of mind that comes from having steady network cannot be explained. It makes life and work easier.
Airtel is the best network for me because of its speed, clear calls and good coverage in my area. MTN is also good though it's not too strong where I live. As for Glo and 9mobile, they did not work well for me, so I stopped using them.
In the LGA that I served, some of my guys were posted to the deep villages where only Glo was available. You need to see the struggle there. They all adapted, did away with their mtn and Airtel and bought Glo😅
That was exactly what happened to me😂. I had no choice but to get the 9mobile sim card and after service I gave it to my younger brother because I could no longer use it again.
Welcome @joshel! Glad to see your first post on networks, looking forward to hearing your insights! 🐎👍
Thank you very much 🙏 I'm excited to share my thoughts and learn from the community...
Josh you climbed mountain kee.
Network issues won't kill us,in my village there is always network in the kitchen and no network in the room I totally understand you.
I climbed mountain a near by mountain oh,😂. The thing was that serious, very frustrating.
I can imagine your own experience, having network in the kitchen but no network in the room. Anytime you want to make calls or browse, you will have to live the room and locate the kitchen. Is not easy...
There are four types of networking systems in your country. However, you use the two networking systems that are most convenient for you.Because through this you can browse the net very easily and enjoy other benefits. That's very well said.
Thank you very much..
Those two networks are the best especially the airtel. There network is good. I don't use to have fluctuations much when I'm using those network compared to other networks...
