My New Year Resolution

Twenty Twenty Six is here and while I still hold fast to my feeling that New Year’s resolutions are basically pointless, I still have hope that I can do things a little differently this year. Over time, I have come to realize that many resolutions sound good at the beginning of the year but gradually fade away after a few weeks. Still, the new year gives everyone a chance to reflect back and think about life.
The year 2025 gave me time to reflect on my life. I looked at the things I did well, the things I was able to achieved, and the things I planned to do but never got to do them. Some experiences were pleasant, while others were not, but all of them played a role in shaping me and teaching me lessons of life. I believe everyone had their own share of experiences and in one way or another, we all felt the weight of the year. But despite everything, I am choosing to focus on the bright side of life and be more serious in 2026.

Like I mentioned earlier, I still feel New Year’s resolutions are often pointless. Many people start the year with lists of goals, but after a few weeks, reality sets in. Life gets busy, old habits return, and most plans are forgotten. Things we promised to stop doing continue, and things we promised to start we never really do them. This is why I personally no longer take resolutions seriously. However, I still hope that this year will be different.
There are a few habits from 2025 that I know I need to correct, and one major one is procrastination. Procrastination really dealt with me last year. I struggled with delaying tasks, postponing decisions, and waiting for the “right time,” which often never came. Because of procrastination, I missed opportunities and slowed down my personal growth. There were things I knew I should do, steps I knew I should take, but I kept pushing them forward. This affected my progress and sometimes made me feel disappointed in myself. This year, I am determined to confront procrastination head-on and stop allowing it to control my actions.
Another thing I am working on as part of my resolution is avoiding being skeptical when it comes to making decisions and taking steps that could benefit me. Last year, I often doubted myself and overthought simple choices. Instead of acting, I questioned everything and sometimes ended up doing nothing. Being overly skeptical made me hesitate, miss chances, and remain stuck in situations I could have moved past. In 2026, I want to trust myself more, take responsible risks, and stop allowing fear or uncertainty to hold me back.
Mindset is another area I am focusing on this year. Last year came with fear, doubt, and negative thoughts that affected the way I reasoned and acted. At some point, these thoughts made me believe I would not succeed in certain areas of my life. They weakened my confidence and slowed my progress. This year, I am correcting that mindset. No matter what happens, I am choosing to stay focused and positive. Challenges will surely come, but my mindset will not deviate from what it is meant to be.
So these are a few things I will love to address this year and I believe that staying intentional about my life will make 2026 a better year for me.!! Peace and Love!!!!!
Those are some great points to focus on for your journey through 2025!
I hope "have as much fun as possible while I wander and wonder through life and all of it's ups and downs" is included somewhere on that great list?

I procrastinate a lot too and anytime I promise to change I don't. I hope we do better this year
I hope so to, because procrastination is really a serious issue and if not dealt with,it can affect life badly....
