Hive-Reachout weekly prompt 42// Popular Statement I don't agree with

Hello Hive family and the Hive-Reachout community. Welcome again to my blog. This is Hive-Reachout weekly prompt 42 and this week's topic is a very interesting one. It is tagged "popular statement you don't agree with". Alot of statement I tend to not agree with but the one I will like to share my opinion on is the popular statement WOMEN ARE MORE EMOTIONAL THAN MEN

Many people believe that women are more emotional than men but is it actually true or is it just a believe in our society today. I find it hard to agree with the statement. In my opinion, I believe that both men and women experience emotions similarly but the difference is in how they both express their emotions. Women express their emotions more openly than the men. Women most time express their emotions when they cry probably when they are sad or upset. They have more mood swings than the men especially when they are in their monthly cycle. They are known to be more nurturing and caregivers than the men. A woman can talk to you about their emotional issues to their families or friends more than a man. When something is wrong with them, they open up more easiyto discuss their problems but that doesn't mean their are more emotional than the men. The men have their own way of expressing their emotions too. Men might tries to solve their problems by themselves without sharing or talking about it. A man may be facing emotional issues such as heartbreak, you may not find him lamenting and crying about it but deep inside him, he's in pain, meet him at his closet and you might see the pain and tears in him, that is because most men don't show their emotions publicly.

Men may go silence without talking to anyone but within them, they are faced with emotional issues. Out of frustration sometimes, you might find them expressing their emotions in anger. These differences in how both gender expresses their emotions doesn't mean that one is more emotional than the other is just that they both have different ways of displaying their emotions. For instance, when a man loses his loved one say his wife, you may not see him crying in public or throwing himself to the ground but that doesn't mean he is not sad or bordered of losing his love one. He might be feeling the pain inwardly but might not express it much openly especially crying. In most case you may see him been the one trying to console other people around him, but when it come to the women, they might cry, roll on the ground and people around may be the one consoling them.

The idea that women are more emotional than men is how the society has placed it. Men often have the idea of "don't cry, be a man" and that had create the impression that men are less emotional.

Right from childhood, we usually see that the boys are always taught to be strong, be a man, men don't cry while the girls are often taught to express their emotions and even talk about their feelings. Most times the way girl are handled differs compare to the way boys are handled. Don't misunderstand me🤣 both are handled with care but the women are often allow to express themselves more openly and easily than men.

Even as an adult, when men tries to express their emotions publicly probably they a sad, afraid or heartbroken, the society will often tagged such men as Weak Men and because men have their pride in them, they may not want to be tagged a weak man. The society will tell you as a man you are not suppose to cry, be a man, men don't cry where as in real sense men are suppose to release or pour out their emotions too. The same emotion in a woman is the same emotions in a man. The feeling of happiness, sadness, joy, love, fear etc are all emotions that is in everyone. So to me, both men and women experience emotions equally, no one is more than the other, the difference is on how both handles their emotions, how both uses difference approaches in expressing their emotions. While to one(women) is okay to express emotions openly, the other (men) might just chose to hide his emotions within him. Peace.
