Personal practices towards a mindful life
About 20 years ago I began my yoga practice, under the guidance of a Uruguayan teacher, with a solid background in this practice, from whom I learned a lot. When the economic crisis in my country (Venezuela) came, from which we have not yet emerged, our instructor had to emigrate (return to Uruguay), and I was left with my personal and autonomous exercise of basic asanas, which I do about three times a week. It is a practice that greatly helps me to preserve my inner peace and my energy (prana), in addition to contributing to my physical health. Unfortunately, I do not have any photos where I appear (they were lost at some point due to a problem with my computer), but I do have photos from that first period. If possible, I would like to post a photo from that stage.

I think that the main practices of seeking full consciousness that I do daily are reading (especially literature) and creative writing. They are the fundamental ways for me to connect with the world, with others and with myself; although they sometimes cause concerns and uncertainties, they are the way to assume the “oneself”, as Jung said. I return to them daily.

Another practice that occupies a relevant place in my life is photography, which I do as an amateur, not as a professional. As much as possible, when my time and modest equipment allow me, I take photographs, either of my surroundings (city) or of other spaces, if I manage to travel (it is not easy in my country, due to economic shortages). I am interested in people, nature in its greatest extent, architecture, etc. I have a lot to share about this practice, as I have done on numerous occasions in #Hive. I leave you two photos below.

Lastly –not by chance I leave it for the end–, one of the practices that nourishes me the most emotionally and spiritually are meetings with friends. I consider that the exercise of full friendship is one of the effective ways of existing in the world, with the attention that this requires. Let us not distance ourselves from those close to us, who can help us to be better, even to heal.

Great to see this part of your life. I have took yoga clases during some months, years ago, and I could feel different emotion depending of the Asana. Sometimes I want to take the practice again. Greetings, José!
Your personal practices for a mindful life are very inspiring! Yoga sounds like a great way to stay calm and healthy, even after so many years. I've been meaning to start yoga or some form of exercising but procrastination is killing that. Reading and writing must help you see the world in a deeper way, as it does for me as well. Photography is also a beautiful hobby—you capture moments that tell a story.
Thank you for your visit and your very complete comment. I encourage you to start yoga: it is excellent! Best regards, @yugadi.
